Did anyone on here catch this fight? i heard it could have gone either way. i know that the fight was a total bag job against mitch, don king used berbick to put mitch in his place cuz he was having a hard time controlling green and mitch wasn't quite strong enough for berbick at that stage in his career, yet took him to the distance cuz he is just that good, loads of talent yet no recognition for it, he was an all-around great fighter, blood went in the fight having not fought for a year, it was around this time his relationship with the kings started to spiral down

Did an he was an all-around great fighter

Maybe Green could of been more, maybe DKP screwed him, but my god Great? Robinson would be spinning in his grave to be mentioned on par with Mitch Bloody;) Green...

Looking at him, I always thought of Mitch as a lesser version of Greg Page, same nice speed, that chopping right, and could take a punch.Granted, he didn't develop like he should have, but I feel he would've made a better heavyweight than Tony Tucker, who, despite his talent, lacked something.

Outside of his losing efforts to Tyson and Berbick, Green's resume has very little substance. In fact, if you view his record on boxrec, there is hardly a single noteworthy name in his win column. Going the distance with Tyson doesn't say much, given that Mike was 19 years old and just starting out, while Green was 29.

Green deserves no more recognition than Tillis, Broad, snipes or many of the other fringe contenders of the 80's.

Jumbo Cummings was a good win, though Mitch got caught a few times.

Cummings was a tough fighter with a strong build, but was hardly world class. What's more, he had only won one of his last five fights prior to facing Green.

BoneCrusher Smith may have been the fight for Mitch to restablish himself somewhat on the scene, but we know what happened there.
