Kelly Pavlik will face Gary Lockett on June 7th & could soon face Joe Calzaghe.
"Joe will be around the Lockett fight, and I'm sure we'll both want to be moving to get something done," Arum said of a possible late 2008 fight date.

I think it might happen as Pavlik would want to catch Calzaghe before Joe leaves boxing and after all even if Pavlik loses he is still King of 160 pounders.

Please Kelly...stay away from 168. Stick to middleweights!

Nah nah nah . . . it's not more likely. Like I said in the other thread . . . they are planning to put Pavlik and Abraham in the same card at Big Apple . . . so it's a clear indication that Team Pav is targeting Abraham next.
But then again . . . these are just talks.

this all depends on how strict the title orgs. are with calzaghe and him hanging onto his belts. if they strip him for not defending then i suppose this proposed plan could go tits up.

Could be a catchweight between SM and LH. Even worse for Pavlik.
This fight may get made if Calzaghe looks vulnerable against Hopkins however.

It would most likely be Joe's last fight too... and a good one for the legacy if he pulls it off, which unless he suddenly gets old he will.
If he cant make this fight the other options I see for a last fight are Woods, Dawson or maybe RJJ for the name rather than the challenge.
Only one other remote possibilty for a fight for Joe that I think a lot of people would love to see would be Ottke, who is back in the ring.....

Pavlik would do wise to face Wright then other champs i.e. Abrahms. These are all winnable fights where he can make a good name for himself.
Guys at 168, 175 etc just make it unnecessarily difficult for him. Kessler and JC could beat him.

I think that Joe won't look good against B-Hop and think he'll lose.

Good on ya.
Remember to bet on it heavily at the bookies so I get better odds.
