View Full Version : Mayweather-Gatti rematch???

How do you think Gatti would do against Floyd in a rematch? I really do think the first fite was just a bad night for Arturo. Hes well rested and has a new trainer. Mayweather should be the favrite but I think Gatti wins the fite by stuning late TKO. Thoughts???

Mayweather would stop him in brutal fashion similar to the first fight, only faster. Gatti can't compete with Mayweather.

If DLH couldnt do it at 154, how the hell is Gatti going to do this? Think about it. Cotto on the other hand, thats another story.

De La Hoya couldn't catch him with the left hook...even if Gatti did, Floyd has a strong chin. Punching hard is great if you have a way to deliver it to the target - and against Mayweather, Gatti cannot. Mayweather is fast, but he is also one of the finest technical boxers of this generation. Floyd would have a field day with Gatti since he is slowing down even more and has never been easy to tag. Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, Mosley, Cintron, Collazo, Quintana, Judah, Malignaggi, Williams, and De La Hoya all pose much greater threats to Mayweather than Gatti.

i do think that arturo fought a very stupid fight listening to mcgirt by trying to outbox PBF.(that has to be the dumbest strategy in the history of boxing almost as bad as Brewster trying to box klitschko) but overall Floyd would still school Arturo

he would catch him Kwitschko has a weak chin.

Gatti would win I know it. He would have to brawl more though. Gatti has a good chin just like Floyd but more power. People say Gattis shot but he even said that wasnt him vs. Baldimor.

Brewster couldn't catch Klitschko last Saturday, Peter caught Klitschko and Klitschko won the fight.

Baldomir beat Gatti up...he doesn't belong at 147. GATTI WOULD NOT BEAT MAYWEATHER:deal

That's like saying Jeff Lacy would beat Calzaghe in a rematch because he has more power, or that Mac Foster would beat Ali in a rematch because he had more power - it doesn't work like that.

I think Gatti is murdered by Floyd. Rematch, you have got to be kidding. I knew Gatti was overmatched, but nobody expected him to be beaten that badly. That was awful to watch. Floyds speed just overwhelmed him. He was stupefied as to what to do. Floyd blitzed like bullets through tin. I would never want to see him take a beating like that. DLH did the same thing

he walked through those shots though.

Personally I think that Gatti was robbed the first time. He was just starting to come on when Mcgirt stopped the fight. I think that Mcgirt bet on Floyd and so he stopped the fight right before Gatti was getting ready to score the KO. With Ward now as his trainer Gatti would get the KO this time

Gatti is my favorite fighters of all time, even being a HUGE fan doesnt mean I think hes the best, he could not beat floyd and would never be able too, the first fight I agree was all wrong for Gatti, stupid mcgirt tried to make gatti box with mayweather while his only chance was a big punche, even a prime gatti loose a convincing UD against mayweather.

Gatti would win this time around. The only chance I see for PBF is if he could outbox Gatti, a difficult task if you ask me. I find really difficult for PBF to actually accomplish that. .

I see at the end of the 12 rds a clear UD in favour of Gatti. Probably a shout out in favour of Gatti.

Scorecards woul'd be something like this:
119 - 109; 120 - 108; 119 - 109 all in favour of Gatti. :deal

PBF is avoiding him. For sure. :yep

I don't like Floyd, and nobody on here is a Gatti hater, you're just a total retard. Floyd is leagues above Gatti, that's just how it is. You can still be a Gatti fan, but do you think he beats Ali as well? Christ!

MAN you got a lot of hate. And I think it depends what version of Ali fights Gatti. If its the Ali thats 35 or older than yeah, as long as he doesnt get hit with the jab.

I have to assume you're just joking dude. I have no hate, didn't I JUST say that? You do realize Gatti is a 140 pounder and Ali is a 6'3 220 pound Heavyweigfht right? You're the absolute stupidest pile of dogshit that has ever posted on ESB, and that includes the likes of Bigtime9 and others, that's quite an accomplishment, you're even stupider than bigtime9, and I didn't think that was possible.

your not only hatin and Gatti you hatin on me too? Whats your problem dude? I know, Ali was a LOT bigger. What would happen if Gatti got inside though? Exactly. Alis long arms would not help him and Gatti would bang at the body. If Ali was in his prime, yeah he would win. Thats why I said the 35+ version of Ali would probably lose. It all depends if he would use his jab.

...
07-12-2007, 05:19 PM
Ali would win wherever the fight went. He would win an inside fight with Gatti with one arm tied behind his back. He was a HW, Gatti was a B- 140 pounder. Gatti is a tough guy, but not that skilled. He would get OWNED by any top notch fighter in any weight class he fought in. Floyd, Mosley, Cotto, hell even someone like Judah would give him a beating. Gatti is now a C figher when you factor in his age. You overrate him to an unbelievable degree. You don't seem to know anything about boxing either if you think any fighter from a weight class that low can hang with a HW of high enough caliber. That's why they have weight classes.

Gatti would beat Ali if it was the past prime Ali. Gatti was an A level fighter for a long time in fact I think he still is he even said he didnt want to be in the ring for that fight. If he was motivated he would have KOed Balimor in 3 rounds. Gatti is coming back stronger than ever I dont know why you dont understand why.:-(

Lol Gatti fans will think of anything, i remember one of my boys whos a Gatti fan, said that the only reason Mayweather dominated was because of the "cheap shot" knockdown in the first round. He said it threw Gatti outo f his rythm and rythm is hard to get back. Man this thread has to be a joke... Its a funny one, but Gatti should retire or worry about Cuevas before he tries getting Floyd again. If he ever did (and i wouldnt be suprised if Floyd took the fight) it'd be the same exact thing.

Yeah, this guy is obviously trolling and trying to stir things up, but some Gatti fans really do seem delusional and believe that Gatti would've won if he brawled more against Mayweather.

And then they say "Gatti lost to Mayweather because he was weight-drained" but say "Baldomir was FAR FAR too big for Gatti". Does Arturo have his own weight class between jr. welter and welter? You know, guys who "weigh-in" at 141 and unofficially weigh 160 on fight night.

...
07-12-2007, 05:27 PM
Gatti9 was never an A level fighter, he got dominated by every top notch fighter he fought. He was a B lever fighter, and is now a C level fighter. Ali would beat Gatti on his knees with one hand tied behind his back blind-folded, even the Ali of today would do that. You are a complete moron. You don't know shit about boxing.

your crazy if you think that. Gatti has wins over Leija, Patterson, Dorin, Rodriguez who are all future hall of famers. The only men to clearly beat him were De la hoya and Manfrady.

How about him in the same-day weigh-in era against Marvin Hagler at middleweight?

Or in his younger days when he entered the ring as a WW, against Hearns, Leonard, or Duran.

Wait a minute. Now Gatti would beat Whitaker? You need to stop dude, I said I was done, but you keep reeling me in. I commend you though, the point of a troll is to get a rise out of people and you're doing a number on me.

what??? What the hell is a troll? Do you honestly think Whitaker had the power to keep Gatti off of him????? Also Gattis bodywork would effect whitaker and stop him from running from Gatti. Whitaker was good at what he did but Gattis style would give him hell.

True.

Whitaker might injure both hands landing so often on Gatti's ribs and head.

man sweet pea your hatin big time for nothing. I wouldnt get mad if you said Whitaker would have beat Gatti. I know that probably wouldnt happen, but I respect your opinion.

lol, you g2 b kidding me. Pernell Whitaker would beat the living and dead shit out of Gatti lol. you may like Gatti and thats fine. But dude was never an elite figher face it. He just has a name b/c of the trilogy with Micky Ward. And b/c of the fights he was in. Arturro was never a good fighter IMO. He was just a slugger with a big heart. If PBF wooped his ass like he did. Pernell Whitaker would kill that boy. Floyd Potshots and moves. Sweet Pea would hit him with combinations all night until both eyes, and mouth got swolen closed. lol

I must admit, Gatti would have been hell for Whitaker who had trouble with pressure fighters and didn't really have a good chin. Chavez, Ramirez, Nelson, and Vasquez all have Whitaker hell (especially Ramirez during the second fight) so I don't think it is a stretch to say Gatti, with all of his heart and great bodypunching, could beat Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea was a great defensive fighter, but against Gatti, his lack of offensive would be his downfall.

If he had the power to keep Ramirez, Chavez, Nelson, Vasquez(154 pound champ) off him, then he had the power to keep B level brawler Gatti off him. Whitaker would hurt Gatti more to the body than Gatti would hurt him. I doubt seriously Gatti would land a significant clean punch the entire fight. Whitaker's style was the perfect style to diminate and embarass someone like Gatti. Gatti is not even within 3 leagues of Whitaker. Stop trolling.

Gatti was a bigger puncher than those fighters you just listed though. Even Brooklyin4354353 said so. Stop HATING Sweet pee was a solid fighter for what he did but his style is all wrong for a warrior like Gatti.

Gatti couldn't beat a 35 year old Baldomir. Sweet Pea would make Gatti look stupid all night making him miss. Arturo is that you?

thats your opinion. I think Gatti stops him late.

I have an opinion too sweet pea.. I'm picking Gatti over Sonny Liston that fought Ali, Sonny wasn't in his prime anymore and Gatti would pound Sonny to the body all night, Sonny would be stopped brutal fashion :admin

I agree... Roy just didnt' have any power at 160-168 to keep Gatti off him, Gatti would walk right by Jones feather fisted punches and land Bombs on Roy. Add that with the fact that Gatti hits harder than , Toney, Hopkins, Ruiz, and everyone else Roy fought it would be a beating i'd feel sorry for Roy

How do you think Gatti would do against Floyd in a rematch? I really do think the first fite was just a bad night for Arturo. Hes well rested and has a new trainer. Mayweather should be the favrite but I think Gatti wins the fite by stuning late TKO. Thoughts???

You are THE biggest moron on here. You should honestly be banned for stupidity. You have done nothing against the rules but are so stupid that you should be banned. I hope you're trolling though, cuz no human being is supposed to be as unbelievably stupid as your retarded ass.
