To me Holyfield is the greatest cruiserweight that ever lived, and would beat the s**t out of this guy in his prime. But some think that Haye beats Ali so what is the deal?

I know but, there is so much Haye "Hype" and i don't buy it. It just get me to wonder what am I missing, only seen him fight three times and I don't see anything to be that excited about. I guess the HW are that bad that people are really excited about this guy.

Holyfield. In fact I don't think Haye would stand a chance. Holy could take shots from genuine big heavyweights with huge power and he was a better boxer than Haye and with FAR better stamina and he would rough Haye up and stop him in the mid rounds.

The Holyfield that went 15 with Qawi would have knocked Haye out.

The Holyfield that was making his title defenses would have honestly beat the shit out of Haye.

And I think Haye is a good fighter as well but what I've seen so far is not on Holyfield's level.

:huhYou said his chin and heart would get him through it, as if it would be a grueling fight, where he'd take a beating, but come through in the end. Even if his heart and chin were just good, his skills would be more than enough to get him through it, and not just through it, but to dominate.

I thought about it for a long time, and ended up picking David Haye.. For me, he hits harder and keeps his cool better. If Holyfield got his dirty headbutting going he could win it though.

Holyfield would KO him without a doubt, probably mid round stoppage. But I find it almost funny when fans say shit like 'Holyfield destroys him in 2 rounds, he never fights again'' kinda crap. Top level operators, whether good, or great, do not hammer each other so badly, so early.

Haye, or any other top fighter, is not going to stand there like a frightened rabbit and let himself get destroyed. 20 years of boxing at the highest level does not count for nothing, the gulf in class between the best fighters and the legendary fighters is not so great.

He also took punishment in a torrid pace with Rick Parkey and walked through shots against former Olympic Gold Henry Tillman. I'm sorry for Haye but there are thing you simply can't measure in a fighter like stoicism, fighting heart and gritty determination.

He's exciting for sure. Good speed and power at cruiser and can certainly carry another 30lb or so.

While its not certain how he will do at heavy, it is a fact he's done more in 21 fights at cruiser than most ever manage in a career. He took on his first ex world titlist in his tenth fight, the second in his 11th. He beat the man of the division in his own back yard and followed it up with a defense vs another titlist. You cant do much more than that in so few fights.

Compared to the last Wlad borefest, his fights have all been worth watching.

All that being said, Holyfield is still better, but that is no disgrace whatsoever.

The Holyfield that fought Qawi the first time wasn't prime and yet a semi-green Holyfield still managed to handily out point him. No way was that a SD.Agreed, I had it about 11 rounds to 4.
