If these top two middleweights had to fight in 1981-1982, could Dwight use his skills to keep Mustafa off him?

i've often wondered this myself but have never been able to decide. i suppose the motivation of Dwight would be a factor. Too close to call

Best ask Parker or Scypion...

I remember Davidson from the Sibson fight... hence my pick:

Hamsho WS10.

I think Davison had the physical tools to beat Hamsho, but not the energy.

Hamsho by split decision, and viewers are left just as they were after Sibson-Davison: wondering what would have happened if Dwight had stepped up the pace a bit.

Hamsho takes this decision. He proved against Minter that he could deal with Dwight's physical strength. There's no way Davison would outhustle Mustafa. Additionally, Hamsho's a southpaw, and an extremely rugged one. The Hamsho who shut out Benitez decisions the Davison who dropped Curtis Parker from the unbeatens.

Mustafa would be too busy for Davison. Dwight would only fight as hard as he had to. Mustafa was always busy & as the rounds pile up, Davison would not be able to knock out Mustafa to pull out the victory.

Toss-up, but at least Mustafa rose to the occasion in bigger fights, so I'm going with him to win a majority decision based on his workrate. If Dwight fought up to his potential, it would go the other way.
