Heavyweight Unification begins with Chagaev-Ibragimov. And while Maskaev, Peter and someone else are sorting out the WBC mess, Wlad needs another voluntary defense IMO.

Who should it be?

If it is not Maskaev then it should be Rahman to stay busy before the unification.

Oh? Who else? I thought, I had all available breathing heavyweights!

I'll go for Valuev. I'd like to see Wlad fight a bigger guy.

Golota deserves next shot coming from impressive TKO recently.

 Start pounding the young guys that have 10 to 15 fights ! You know like LARRY did and apparently got alot of respect for it ! ( in fact he should have lost to a couple of them ) :yep

The same bum who Holyfield KOed in his first comeback fight? :rofl:rofl

IMO, he might as well fight Holyfield. The only fights that matter for him are against the other beltholders. Beating any of these guys won't impress me because he SHOULD beat all of those guys pretty easily. Halyfield probably brings in the biggest purse of the bunch, plus when he wins he can finally say he's defeated an ATG afterwards

Well, Virchis would be a prety badass, extremely risky fight for Wlad. I think I will pick that option, would be a very intriuging fight.

HBO will not let Wlad to make unification with notbody. Wlad have contract with HBO and must keep agreement for three years till 2010.
It will be some boring fight again with some who will pay more to get shot for world title.
Hasim Rahman will be good idea.

ANY of them except Byrd, Briggs, Chambers and McCall.

The condition: he has to fight Chag or Iggy next.

Chagaev/Ibragimov

Yes, I think we'd all love to see this one, but I don't believe Wlad should sit the rest of 2007 out to wait for the winner.

Wlad will reportedly fight in the US next, so the opponent will likely be an American. Believe it or not, of the available Americans on the list, I think Holyfield would give Wlad the most trouble, though Wlad would still win fairly easily. But I don't want to see Holyfield forced into retirement, so I voted for Briggs, cuz I'd enjoy seeing Wlad KO his ass.

I voted for Holyfield.

I know I said Sanders might be his best option at this point but Holyfield brings PPV dollars and a great name for the resumé with limited risk factor. He's American, and he always comes into the fight in shape & ready to rock.

Sanders would be my 2nd favorite choice followed by Valuev, Liakhovich or the Kraniqi vs. Thompson winner.

Valuev would be interesting because Wlad has never faced anyone that much bigger than he is (who has:yep ) and it would sell great in Germany.

Liakhovich because it's an interesting clash of styles being Wlad is so effective from the outside & Sergei is great on the inside.

Krasniqi would be great just to shut the Artani idiot up!

Thompson would be okay as another American contender.

Fuck Briggs. He was just outpointed by a lessor technician in Sultan. Not that Iggy didn't deserve the win mind you.....................Wlad would beat Briggs silly at this point. Let him prove he wants it bad enough by fighting a couple of respectable opponents within the top 20 or so.

I still think Briggs has atleast one meaningfull monsterous KO to give and Wlad could be it.

Golota wouldn't be too bad either......................I forgot about him. Not that he really stands any kind of decent chance but he could bring some big $$$ if the fight is in either Chicago or New York.

Liakhovich should have at least a vote or two, c'mon guys, fights are all about contrasting styles & Wladimir vs. Sergei would be a great fight IMO.

He did fight "scared" vs. Briggs no doubt but he was never that kind of fighter before, maybe that's why he's so inactive at this point? He went toe to toe with Guinn & Brewster didn't he?

Liakhovich needs to get back in the ring with a tune up before he gets in the ring with Wladimir, Were the hell is he!!! Two times Liakhovich has turned a eliminator with Davaryll Williamson:patsch Whats wrong with this guy?:huh

Great. Let's do Byrd 3. There were people on this board that actually picked BYRD.:huh

I would prefer Wlad fight the winner of Ibragimov/Chagaev, or Sam Peter, but either of those fights are at least 7-10 months off, so in the interim, Valuev, Virchis, or Liakhovich are probably the most ''deserving''.

I like Holyfield too much to want to see THAT massacre. Same with McCall.

Wlad - Eddie Chambers would be like Wlad - Chris Byrd all over again.
