Bloody good fight... Doherty wins on points but I reckon it was close.

That was a really good scrap. Doherty looked good early on but seemed to tire. Jones looked better when he started to take a few risks and throw some combinations.

Doherty will get destroyed if he steps up a level. He thinks he has Naseem reflexes but he's a fatty.

Bunce said Jones's fans were being racist, but Doherty is white and Welsh as well so not sure what he is on about. :huh

Yep, really good fight, I'd like to see Doherty with a bit more power and he has great promise.

A bigger puncher would have had him in some trouble in the last 3 rounds. he possibly got a bit complacent but silly to leave his hands so low when his reflexes aren't fantastic.

Yeah, just sussed that now when I heard Doherty being interveiwed. Never heard him speak before.

Buncey will be ranting in the Independent about that.

It was a cracking fight, but I thought the fight was much closer than the commentary team tried to pretend it was.
Dohertys defence was shocking, took way too many unnecessary punches.
I would be confident McIntrye would jab the head off him to victory if theres a rematch.

Ya, I was chatting to him after the fight and he was made up. Jones fans were morons - booing and calling it a fix - white crash tramps! To be fair the venue was full of scum - even more so than usual!

I did have to sit beside Tony's sisters after then bumrushed ringside - noisey girls - "thum on thony!"

Anyone wanna see the funniest youtube clip in the world?? It involves Tonys brother - I only realised who he was when I put 2 + 2 together last night.

i liked his lateral movement, but he's just not quick enough and its only going to work against stiff limited fighters like jones. not even sure if he could beat mcintyre, although i didn't see the first fight.

I have to say I had seen very little of Doherty before not even the MacIntyre fight.

However, I really liked his head work - really good. No guard but really good head movement.

Maybe he could lose a few pounds and be a real threat

I thought it was a great fight. Doherty could be a decent Euro level fighter at lightweight, theres def. a couple of pounds he could shift.
