Give credit to Jermain Taylor, Joe Calzaghe, Kelly Pavlick, and Mikkel Kessler. There are no other divisions I can think of in boxing that are giving, or will in the future give us these kind of fights.

So much for Taylor and Calzaghe ducking the top competition, and credit to the up and comers for taking their shot at boxing royalty.

Yep, they deserve credit for putting their undefeated records on the line against the fighters people want to see them in against - and that goes for all 4. Hopefully we get clear results with both fights.

I think Diaconu vs Dawson (hopefully), and Mormeck vs Haye are also great fights that are comming up.

I wouldn't start praising Taylor just yet. Yes, he's fighting Pavlik, but only because he's pretty much backed into a corner where it'd be blatant ducking if he didn't fight Pavlik. Everyone pretty much sees him as Taylor's biggest threat as of now.

Brooklyn can you remember the last time that two divisions gave us 3 bigger fights within a few months?

Generally I agree. Potentially 160 and 168 are the divisions best suited to modern man. They are not slow or letargic to look at like often is the case once we get to Cruiser and above. They do not punch like children with 500 punches per round without really bothering the opponent like many fights in the smaller divisions do.

They are big and strong, but still agile and fast. Potentially a great combination. And right now we have some really great fighters there.

You know, it's taken me until I'm in my mid 30's, but I have to say my old man was right about something......

Growing up and watching the fights, he always used to tell me middleweights were the most dangerous boxers around.

Heavies and Light Heavies, cruisers etc LOOK big, so you know straight away they're strong. But they lack speed.

below welter, they're quick, but lack power of course.

Middles he always said were big enough to really hurt people, and quick enough to catch them too - plus they don't look huge so can take you by surprise!!!
