I think he is a great fighter, not up there with Ali, Duran, Leonard, Robinson, Armstrong, Greb, SRL, Langford, etc.., but a great nonetheless.
As a person and the way he talks and acts, I hate him. I would love to see Cotto beat the shit out of him, although I'm not so sure he would.

I'll lead a happier life if he receives that much overdue L that he deserved against Castillo.
In other words.... I hate his fucking guts. :good

I'd like to see layed out on a stretcher after being brutally KOed. Unfortunately I don't think there's anyone out there who can actually do it. DAMMIT!
You only think that way because he has not been fighting all the best he has been feasting on house hold names towards the end of their careers, once he sets foot in there with Cotto or Margarito its over, hell even Shane Mosley but the way Floyd looks at that fight, he is thinking Shane isnt old enough yet.

Not really, I think that because I really don't think guys like Margo and Cotto can beat him. I think he's too good for guys like that to impose their styles on him, let alone knock him the fuck out. if a bigger harder hitter like De La Hoya couldn't do it, I doubt anyone else will.
I just don't see anyone out there that can actually best the guy and that's coming from one of the biggest PBF haters here. Fuck I hate that guy.
Yeah, it would have to be another slickster like Spinks, whom I sincerely believe could beat Mayweather. I also think Hatton could potentially get the job done.

I respect his abilities and skills and all, and I consider him an all time great for sure. He's just not up there with the likes of Leonard and Robinson. He falls far short of that kind of greatness.
That being said, I hate the fuck! He's an immature little asshole that I'd like to see layed out on a stretcher after being brutally KOed. Unfortunately I don't think there's anyone out there who can actually do it. DAMMIT!
I appreciate that honesty, rather than saying "he doesnt fight anyone, he sucks, hes never done anything" blah blah blah

I have a question... In a historical sense, who does Floyd have to beat from now on till the end of his career to be viewed on the SRR or SRL level? Would Mosley, Cotto, and Hatton put him up there, where in 20 years we'll look back and put him as the best? I'm not saying he will or should ever be looked at in the same mold as SRR, but will anyone ever view him equal or superior P4P vs. guys like Leonard, Duran, Hearns, etc.
Only time will tell. A lot of times guys are looked upon more favorably as time goes on. As time goes on people start to remeber you for how you beat people instead of who you beat. Look at Roberto Duran. People say he's the greatest lightweight of all time. However, if you look at his fights at lightweight, it's littered with bums. I'm not saying Duran wasn't a good lightweight, but it seems he's judged more on the way he fought instead of who he fought. Whitaker had more quality wins at LW than Duran, in many less fights, but many will put him behind Duran because of his more defensive oriented style.

I really don't think he will be ranked up there with Sugar Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran, or Sugar Ray Leonard, but beating Shane Mosley, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, and another top welterweight or light middleweight would make him 42-0 with probably 7+ titles in 5 weight classes. That greatness can't be denied and he would rank in the top 20 fighters of all time.
I wouldn't put him with Leonard since his wins over Benitez, Hearns, Duran, and Hagler would surpass De La Hoya, Mosley, Cotto, and Hatton. Duran who is the only lightweight of all time to win a title at middleweight and who beat a prime Leonard, De Jesus, Buchanan, Cuevas, Palomino, Moore, and Barkley and was arguably the most well-rounded fighter in the history of boxing, and perhaps the most dominant lightweight of all time.
He would surpass Hearns in my opinion if he accomplished all of that. Whether or not he would beat Hearns is a different story, but when looking at his resume and being undefeated in 5 weight classes, I would rank him above Tommy.
Will he ever be considered the greatest of all time? No, but if he does what you said, he will be considered an all time legendary great and the best fighter of this generation.

The poll is way too limited. I cannot say I hate the guy, I just really don't care about him as far as entertainment value concerned in and outside the ring. His pre-fight spectacles are obnoxious and arrogant, moreover, since he moved up in weight, his fights became true snoozers. That being said, he is definetly a very talented boxer for which he deserves certain praise.

At the end of the day it's all about opinions and generations, the kids of today will not have seen SRR and the like, so Floyd may be seen in their eye's as the greatest, and i wouldn't blame them as the mans skills have taken things to a different level these days, people can bitch about Floyds record and who he has or hasn't faced but if you're talking about pure talent then there's not been many better than him!!, and thus he should and will be regarded as one of the greats.

Yes Mosley, Cotto and Hatton would put him up there, no doubt. He fought some great opponents Corrales, Castillo, Judah, DeLaHoya (past prime), Gatti (past prime), Mitchell(past peime) but he needs to fight a young undefeated lion like Cotto or Hatton to establish his legacy as one of the best ever. Mosley is a bit past it but he is the guy who beat prime DLH twice.

I love the kid!!!
Possibly the most complete fighter ever!!
I like em even more when I see guys/cornballs on here cast judgement on a guy they don't know. Even more when guys/cornballs on here judge his career based on his attitude(sad). Even more since they can't find a fighter today who can beat him so they make up the mythical polls and basically say w/out a doubt that all these guys could easily beat him because it makes them feel better(pathetic). Even more when they try to discredit his very good resume by stating he won't fight the the other fighters of today after he's tried to fight them all already. Even more when ppl get on here and say he will never be an alltime great because he hasn't beat this one or that one knowing damn well if, and when he does they'll still have that same opinion!
Floyd would have won 4 straight Lineal titles if it wasn't for a guy named Ricky Hatton being scared to step foot in the ring w/him! Hatton's lack of balls have changed history! Floyd still has won 3 Lineal Titles, Championships in 5 different weightclasses, all in under 10yrs, and he's still undefeated! How can anyone try and discredit him:-( If it were any other fighter in the world he'd be the greatest of alltime, but it's Floyd and some of you guys are obsessed w/hating him. That's makes me like him even more!!

Hahaha...Awesome.
I mist say, i am one of the biggest supporters of Mayweather's on this forum, as a fighter. I love the guy in the ring, he's fucking incredible, and anyone who refuses to admit that is merley letting there hatered outside the ring cloud their judgment.
That said, as a person outside the ring, or at least the persona he has taken on, I find him to be a digusting human being.
Fortonetly though, I am not looking for a boyfriend in him, I am looking for a good figther.
