There are no fighters in the division that are willing to lay it all on the line like.....[Only registered and activated users can see links]
There are no Big George Foremans or Ron Lyles. They fought the greatest heavyweight fight in history!
Nothing in the last 20 to 25 years even comes close. :-(

it aint only the heavies.
True, but the heavies seem to be worse. Most heavies today couldn't go 15 rounds if they had to.
Can you even imagine standing and trading with a prime George Foreman? Lyle was truly a bad ass.

Klitschko vs. Lewis wasn't bad at all. Sorry to bring it up again. They were MUCH bigger then Foreman and Lyle and fought viciously and all the blame for clinches must go to Lewis.
Vitali also fought pretty wrecklessly in a great fight against Sanders, Sanders just didn't have enough to fight like that consistently but when he did we saw a great round like round 3 was.
The real problem is AMERICAN fans are too blind and biased. Divion is great but it's failed to be recognized becasue all teh fighters are non-american. Simply as that.

Where a fighter is from makes no difference to me. I was a huge Golota fan until I find out he sucked mentally.

There are fights where guys put it all on the line - Brewster/Lyakhovich, Tua/Ibeabuchi, Lewis/Klitschko...none were Foreman/Lyle, but there are fighters in the division with great chins, great heart, and great power who make for exciting fights

The point is (none WERE Foreman/Lyle) Most fighters today would not be able to fight like that due to lack of heart and mental toughness.

To be fair, when is there a fight like that? Brewster comes to mind as a guy like Lyle in terms of mental toughness - not the Brewster now, the Brewster of old.

"Why the heavyweight scene is so bad now" ... you miss Chris Byrd and John Ruiz, don't you?

Another point - all the more reason to follow the lower weights more!

Brewster reminds me a lot of Ron Lyle. I just watched this fight for the 100th time. Great fight. I still get excited watching it.

The one from the Meehan fight or the one who got outboxed by Wlad util the famous collapse ... or maybe the one from early Krasniqui fight?

Spare me the trite B.S. that we've heard so many times before about the Heavys. Foreman would have gotten his ass kicked against a lennox lewis or Vitali Klitschko. Heavys were smaller back then. They were cruiser weights. Foreman was good, but highly overated. His form sucked, and he only had a hard punch...:smoke
Foreman a cruiserweight? Foreman was not just good, he was great...what makes Vitali Klitschko a greater HW than Foreman?

Ali.....did a lot to promote it during his prime but didn't know when to hang it up. Everytime he is shown shaking on TV, another potential boxer takes up basketball/football. Compare that with M. Jordan.
