You really think so? spot on,he'll never fight Cotto.
Another odd thing is how many floyd apologists continue saying 'he will fight Cotto one day,its too big a fight NOT to happen'(:nut )
Thats irrelevant- HE WONT FIGHT HIM!:deal:nono

You have no evidence to say that.

Another thing: saying that "Mayweather will not fight Cotto" is right now the same as saying "Cotto willl not fight Mayweather". But why is it always Mayweather's fault? After all, it is Cotto the one scheduled to fight Gomez, Margo-Cintron, Mayorga and maybe Clottey.

At what point will it become SELF evident to you that he wont ;Leading up to Shane vs Moseley, and Floyd vs Hatton, some naively believed that floyd would fight the other winner;didnt happen, fancy that.Wonder why.:huh
His next fight is a September rematch with Oscar, followed by the inevitable long time out.Cottos off the radar.
How long are you giving him, another 5 years grace?

People said that Mayweather wasn't gonna be able to deal with Hatton's relentless, fast pressure and with his body shots. He broke Castillo's ribs and KOed him. Mayweather couldn't do that. Hatton had only been down once before, also.

Now people think that Cotto will do what Hatton, or other 37 men, couldn't do.

Fact is that nobody knows what would happen in a Mayweather-Cotto fight. People have opinions and that doesn't make them nuthuggers.

Im a BOXING fan yes,we all are,but that creates a level of realism, such is the nature of the sport. That objective view tells me it wont happen.

This is stupid. Everyone knows that Mayweather goes for what gives him the most money. Right now Cotto would be a pretty big fight, but Mayweather smells the potential in him. He probably wants to make a fight with someone like Cotto the last fight in his career, why would he do that so soon? History won't care how long between fighting Oscar and Hatton Mayweather waits.

Floyd knows that while Cotto is very well known amongst boxing fans, to get the kind of PPV numbers he got with Oscar, or even HATTON... that Cotto needs exposure.

I think Floyd will for sure for sure fight Cotto, but not until its either to the point that people are saying "Floyd can't be the real welterweight champion if he hasn't fought Cotto", or until Cotto is either known to the general public like Oscar is or until he has a HUGE fan base backing him like Hatton.

Floyd fill fight him no doubt. He's just waiting for Cottos name to get bigger so that he could expose his ass for the biggest purse possible.

I was confident that the fight would eventually take place in 2009, but I'm not confident anymore with Mayweather suing Top Rank and Top Rank apparently ready to counter sue.

Yep. A guy with superior technical ability can take Cotto out. If Cotto had a better chin then i wouldn't be so sure but he doesn't.

Bullshit. Cotto gets whooped. His defense sucks.

Castillo's defence was worse, as was his offense and workrate/jab.:yep

If that fight happens and Mayweather beats Cotto, I will be humilliated and will stop posting here for several months. And then I will put "Cocksucker" in my user title for one more year.

You mean if Cotto beats Mayweather in very impressive fashion?

Why humiliated, Mayweather's one of the best, but he's overrated like most of the fighters shoved down our throats by way of massive promotion, I am speaking mostly of his 140 and over boxing career, not his lighter weight days.

Cotto's the worst for him possible, a big strong technical pressure fighter with unbreakable will and a well timed hard jab to set up work behind, as well as being a vicious body puncher.

Fight ought to be something like 70/30 Cotto, but nobody see's it because they are under the trance that Floyd is highly impressive and unbeatable at 147, which is simply utter bullshit.

I don't think Mayweather is a great fighter at 147.

I dont' even think he's that good at 147, nor do I think the 147 division is as strong as people think it is.

I think a lot of guys with size and decent skills at 147 with at least trouble Floyd at this point and any elite there, like Cotto, will beat him.
