I say Hatton.

It may be a little more competitive but still Mayweather.

It wouldv'e been nice to see it after Hatton beat Tszyu, and Mayweather was new at the weight.

:patsch

Mayweather spent his physical prime at 130 and 135, he isnt a big welterweight. DO you raelly think hatton is SO bad that a move up of a mere 7lbs render what was (according to you) a fighter good enough to beat the p4p #1 in the world useless?

Hatton had to impose himself physically on mayweather to win, if anything he had a better chance at 147.

And by the way, if you're going to post a thread on topic that has been beaten to death a million times before, please include something resembling analysis or reason, and not just 'I think Hatton' - who are you? Are you so highly esteemed in the boxing world that that we are supposed to care that 'you think hatton' with zero reasoning or logic?

:huh

I agree, Mayweather is a better fighter than Hatton but that was the best chance that Hatton had of winning.

And he bottled it. Rejecting the fight twice in 2005.

Mayweather may have ko'd him quicker, Hatton is draining to make 140, he wasn't drained at 147, therefore hes stronger and faster at the weight and Mayweather was faster at 140. Mayweather gets no benefit from the fight being at 147.

According to inside sources (Sports Network) Team Hatton asked Mayweather for the fight to be at 147 instead of 140 so he wouldn't lose his 140lb ring title.

I don't buy that at all. 147 suits Mayweather more than it suits Hatton. As Sleaze said, Hattons best chance was when Mayweather was new to 140 and Hatton was established at the weight.

No, no, Hatton is more than good, but it became more than obvious that he just dont belong at 147. I appreciate what he did, I mean, taking the fight with Mayweather at 147 in Las Vegas.

Once again a clear Mayweather victory. I would even give it by an earlier stoppage.

I think the more important question is whether PBF be able to hit Hatton so he would headbut the turnbuckle like he did in the last fight ?

Mayweather wins everytime, there is nothing in Hatton's arsenal to suggest he had the beating of Floyd in any department.

Hatton would give Mayweather a much better fight at 140 than at 147, whether he would win or not is debatable.

The best opportunity would have been in 2005 - when Mayweather was struggling to make weight, rather than in 2007 with Floyd established at 147. Our American friends take the piss out of Hatton because of his lifestyle out of training (rightly so lol) but the fact remains that 140 has never been a struggle - generally a shift up in weight is made when making weight is too much trouble, or in Hatton's case, because that's where the big fights (and bucks) are.

Mayweather has never remotely struggled to make weight in any division. Out of training he is under 150lbs; in the age of fighters regularly dehydrating 15lbs the day of the weigh in, Mayweather could still easily be fighting at, for example, 135lbs.
