He's a future heavyweight champ for sure, some people will bring up the fact he lost to Thompson, but this was actually a good thing. He has improved ten fold since, sorted out his stamina, and changed his attitude.

Big cruiserweight, massive puncher, good skills, quick hands, questionable (but improving) stamina and an unproven chin.
As a person, good talker and willing to make fights and take risks rather than take the easy route; he's the type of guy that boxing needs more of.

6'3 ,great jab, nice combo's, good on the inside and outside, nice set of defencive skills...slick and a brutal puncher. his stamina was not great but has improved alot and it was a blessing in disguise the thompson fight, his chin looks alright he was knocked down before the thompson fight it has galvanised him.
his chin seems alright i mean thompson was a brutal puncher and in that haye had tired himself out ,was flatfooted and was gettin pot shoted but he was taking some good shots...
seriously weight drained at 200.
needs to move up , this will hurt him against Mormeck

I'm not impressed but he is young enough to improve but the British nuthuggers sound like they want him in there w/Wlad ASAP. That would ruin his career. He needs to gradually work his way onto the hw scene so he can improve his boxing skills. As of today, he is no more than a good hw prospect. Right now though he is even more overrated than Sam Cheater :yep on this board.
Pretty bad stamina, AWFUL balance, leaky d and a shaky chin. Good power, nice jab, athletic ability, and upside. If he's rushed, this has Michael Grant written all over it :deal

Good, but with that questionable chin at CW, his prospects of getting starched at Heavy seem quite likely. Unless he develops a good defense to protect those shaky whiskers, I suspect he gets whacked out as soon as he faces anyone decent at HW.
At CW, I think he beats Mormeck, who is ready to be beaten. Better make sure he doesn't get his on the button, though. :yep

I agree he shouldnt be rushed - If he is taken along slowly, i truly believe he will unify the heavyweights

He is very powerful....has a good chance to beat Mormeck and then should move up to HW
All the potential in the world. I really believe he's gonna make some serious noise over the next five years.

A Haye fight will always be exciting which is why he's the future of the HW division. He will lose some on the way, but he has a fantastic attitude and will duck no one

i'm a big Mormeck fan, but wouldn't be shocked if Haye wins it it in five or six.

Haye was an excellent amateur (silver medal in the World Championship), but suprisingly decided to turn pro before the 2004 Olympics, which was a big mistake IMO.
As a pro he suffered from Frank Bruno syndrome, the fighters who normally give you experience are blown out too early. He really struggled early on against an African fighter (Lolenga Mock), were he was very lucky to gain a win.
His early flaws were exposed by Carl Thompson.
Since then he has learnt a lot, this culminated in a show of great heart in beating Fragomeni.
He has excellent power, very good boxing skills, seems to of overcome stamina issues, but his chin is on the soft side, and he has been cut up.

I don't understand... Mormeck is WAY past it, he just got his titles back in a hard fight and he takes the most dangerous guy out there (with Cunnimgham)... He is 35, normally he would get easy meat to defend his titles couple of time before hanging up.
Now he is going to lose them again ... and going to get knock out again.
Props to him. Really.

He totally steamed out in the fifth, he could barely stand and throw a punch, and Carl took him. He was dominating Carl before hand

this is all very true. Hey, i'm British and saying this about a Frenchman: Mormeck is a bloody legend. Good man, underrsted fighter. But he still gets ko-ed by the Hayemaker.

Haye tried to blow out Thompson early. He blasted The Cat all around the ring in the first and for the first two minutes of round two. But then Thompson started to land a few a jolting jabs to keep Haye honest at the end of the round.
In round three Thompson took over, firing heavy left and rights as Haye seemed unable to move away and was resorting to one punch bombs rather than the combinations of the first two rounds.
In round four, Haye gave it one final go, pushing Thompson back and trying to regain authorite. It failed and Thompson seems to be able to nail Haye at will.
In round five Thompson continued his domminance Haye fell from a left hook the ref gave him an eight count, a big right upercut staggered Haye into the ropes and then Haye's corner threw in the towel.

He was only Ko'ed though because he punched himself out against Thompson and temple shots can hurt anyone and temples aren't on the chin.:yep

No chin! What the hell are you talking about? Give me examples please, and i'll counter them easily!
And its already known he has improved his stamina tenfold
when i was initially asked about haye at heavyweight i thought....mmm..herbie hide...superb physical specimen, fast, tremendous power but chinny...im now starting to reassess that.....haye should do well against the guys in this division.....he may or may not be chinny, we will have to see how he gets on when one of the big fellas catches his whiskers, but he can carry the weight up to hw without it affectin his speed and he carries his power...he will trouble many of the top guys and at this time, just oozes confidence......i think he will take mormeck out and move up as cruiser champ.....he might be ready for one of the poorer champs within the year......

How did he underachieve? Since this thread, he KOed Mormeck to become lineal CW champ, unified by KOing Enzo in 2, won a belt at HW and only lost to the number 1 HW in the world, a guy half a foot taller and 30 pounds heavier than him.

And that last fight he only lost because of a horrific injury...if he' d have postponed the fight a bit, so that that lifethreatening injury had a chance to heal up properly with the right medical care and therapy, he would've hayemakered himself into ATG status for sure:lol:

Uh.....Haye is 6'4, and wieghed in light, 225 for that fight, as did Wlad @ 242. Haye should keep fighting and get over this LUDICROUS retirement. He's only really fought 2X/yr or less anyways, so why not get back in the gym, bul up to 240 and come back a boxer/puncher instead of a run first combo puncher.
All in all, even with all the negative talk of him, he's still top 5 in this division and is a natural HW unlike HOOK, Mormeck, Adamek and Tarver.
I'd like to see Haye come back and fight Fury, KO him, take the British belt, defend it a few times vs Sexton, Price and a few other hypejobs, then seek out and obtain the EU Titles. Fight and beat Ustinov, Dimitrenko and then go and rape Potvetkin for an immediate rematch with Wlad for all the goodies.
By that time, Don Vito will be retired, Haye will be 33/34 and Wlad will be 37/38, and Haye could like get that KO win and become Undisputed HWCotW.:deal

uh...no he isn't.
Your'e right......he's listed at 6'3 and is a ripped 210 vs Wlad.
He really should be fighting closer to 240. :deal He'd still be cut, but doesn't need to be so light....it may actually help him in the punch resistance category and aid him on the inside, while adding to his power.
My point is/was......he is not a smallish HW, and is only light because he cuts weight before a fight which is stupid for a HW unless they are fat like Arreola.:deal
Vidic

He isn't 6'3 either he's about 6'1....he is a smallish hw, he only has his current weight because he is massively muscled.
