First does he have to give a long winded answer to every freaking question?

Second, why is he so defensive about him being a dirty fighter..it's becasue he knows he fights dirty. Remember the comment he made prior Trinidad fights about making the fight "knees and elbows".

Third, he talks like he's going to knock Winky out..I mean if he could'nt even know a green Taylor down once, then isn't dilusional to think that he can stop a seasoned veteran like Winky.

Man, I can't wait to see this snaggle toothed, overated fool being embarrased next week.

Bernard is a great fighter and so is Winky. What is Bernard going to say? "I'm going to decision Winky." NO, he's a FIGHTER and that is how fighters talk. He's a 42 year old guy still among the elite. Winky will not dominate him.

b-Hop wins this, imo. Wright has solely relied on the jab for the past couple of years. You need more than that vs b-Hop.

Why is he so defensive when he's labelled a dirty fighter - when he said so himself before? It's ridiculus. Boxing has rules and I can't call a fighter that does not respect them "great".

And about talking...he surely has been unable to fight as he talks.

On the contrary, I don't see a weapon Bernard can use effectively against Winky to neutralise him. Winky is a complete fighter defensively.

I guess Hopkins is a little strange at times. I think Hopkins knows boxing history pretty well so he most likely knows that most guys bend the rules (he does so more than the average fighter).

Maybe he's worried the refs will pay more attention to his fouls.

Doesn't seem to matter, he's smart and does it when the ref is on the side where he can't see them.

hmmm... for my money, he's solely relied on jab, jab, jab, guard for a good two years now. Well, we'll see - but I like B-Hop in this fight. One thing I will say in Winky's defence, is that his power is underrated. He might have enough sting to keep BHop honest and make him be over cautious. But that's the only way I see him winning.

He did apologise for that, though.

Hopkins always talks a big-game and then he goes in the ring and throws three punches per round WTF!!! Before the Taylor II fight, he said "Im NOT letting this one go into the judge's hand" and guess what happen lol....

That's exactly my point. Walk the walk as well - just don't waste our time with all the talk and come fight night you pose all nite.
If he says he'll stop Winky then at least we want to pay to see him trying.

I know! But it was something he shouldnt done in the first place you know....So NO I cant forgive him for that.....:smoke

I think there's a method to his madness.

He seems good at psychologcial warfare. He'll make his opponent mad or intimidated or whatever, but is controlled and won't get caught up in a pre-fight scuffle himself.

"I ain't hitting him unless I get paid"

Well as you know Boxing is 90% mental and 10% physical so I do understand what you meant, however, the act of throwing the flag on the floor doesnt seem to be right you know....

Especially when everyone got oversensitive when fans booed the singing of the American anthem during Tito-Joppy.

Plus, you have to consider the circumstances. It's not like Hopkins just grabbed a PR flag off the stage and threw it on the ground. It was a press conference to hype the fight, and both Tito and Don King were waving flags. Tito was in front of Hop waving the flag in Bernard's face. Like Hop said later, he felt he had to do something to show he wasn't intimidated.

My grandfather was Puerto Rican so I didn't like seeing Hop throw that flag, just like I don't like hearing the US national anthem booed. I was glad when Hop went to Puerto Rico and apologized after the fight. But I can also understand why he did it.
