I think hes rattled
Enzo Calzaghe is permanently rattled, he's ranted there for no real reason.

He's always like that no matter who Joe fights.......just his personality....a lot of what he says is true if you listen in between the ramblings......Hopkins is a "boring twat" when he fights and he doesnt fight like a legend...he's too cagey and dirty to be considered a legend....a great story cos of his age but legends come out to fight and avenge defeats....He has simply never done that

Enzo has no clue... you may wish its gonna be a clean fight, but Ole Nard doesn't care. He doesn't even care about making it an entertaining fight. why? Cuz Bernard is a boxer for the connaisseur. His fans are among the most sophisticated boxing fans in the world. He knows he'll keep his fan base if he wins a tactical fight.
Calzaghe fans are irrational. Calzaghe must throw thousands of punches and make it an entertaining fight, cuz if he doesn't people will turn against him.
The crowd, even if its a pro-Calzaghe crowd, will favor Hopkins because it will put pressure on Calzaghe to force action and make mistakes.
Bernard TKO 9.

There's also an interv iew with joe in the same building where he looks
bigger and stronger around 10 pounds or so over the lightheavy limit.
He indicates that he will fight tentatively for the 1st couple of rounds
to see what bernard is going to do, and in the second half of the fight
he thinks his youth and stamina will prevail.
All this talk of joe bashing nard up and shutting him out is just promo hype. Joe plans on a smart fight w/ alot of flicker jabs to set up his arsenal. With that [plan of action joe is unbeatable. Probably not FOTY
candidate, but a decisive V for calz nonetheless.

He was telling the truth though!
I want Bernard to win, to shut up these Hatton turned Calzaghe fans! But frankly I dont care if he loses!
Nard is dirty, when he fights... I always fall for his pre fight hype, and he repeatedly delivers boring ass, dirty fights...
So I agree with Enzo, I hope Bernard puts it all on the line in this fight and comes out like he did against Tarver....looking for a knockout.

Hop's fights a bit dirty eh? WOW!! I'm shocked:shock:
I do question the entire UK mindset on this though. WTF are they repeatedly pissing Hopkins off and adding fuel 2 the fire? It would make more sense to remain calm and stick to the plan. There's no secrets in this fight but they keep offending Hopkins and all that will do is make it more difficult.Hopkins is having a Super Camp and is extremely motivated. I expect a hard fought contest for sure.
JC is the favorite, but the UK media attitude makes me wanna pull for Hop's even more. I dont wanna bet this because JC should win, but I'll be rooting for Hopkins. Thats not as much against Joe himself, but the prevailing atmosphere.

While I didnt like those comments. I'm a long time Hop's fan because of how he turned his life around and disciplined nature. To me? That transcends race. It takes great character to do what he's done. I've seen many sides of life and always respect someone overcoming their surroundings.Coming from where he's been? It's sad to say he's seen the opposite as well.
I would have hoped the attitude of the UK would be such as to let the talking be done in the ring. Instead? It seems to feed into and permeate the uglier side. It's to the point they are bringing the US vs UK mentality and as an American? I think its rubbish. Even if that's Hopkins views(I believe it was more to promote the event rather than being overtly racist)? America is the sum of its part's and that's all races.
Dont get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for Joe himself and admit he's the favorite. But such arrogance on behalf of his supporters? Makes me wanna see Hopkin's prove it wrong. While that may not happen? I'm positive that pissing Hopkins off on a regular will only increase his desire to do so.

I agree with you that Bhops is a remarkable human being - a great man. But I don't think he's a good man. Maybe Calzaghe isn't a saint either, but he seems a slightly nicer fellow...Maybe he is not as big a character...who knows...
In any case, you have to understand the spirit of these verbal exchanged from the British side. There IS arrogance there, but only because Calzaghe is so underrated in the USA, where him and his best opponent are considered "Euro-bums". Also, Calzaghe is only mouthing off because he wants to sell the fight in the USA...this kind of mouthing off just doesn't sell well in Europe and in Britain, specifically.
The Calzaghe camp have always been pretty loud and arrogant though...but that's because of their confidence...
His supporters are pissed off that Hopkins ducked Calzaghe in 2002. They are pissed off that he's had to beat Lacy and frigging Manfredo to be recognised in the USA. So...when they see a well past it 43 year old deride Kessler and everything Calzaghe has every achieved and talk about how he's going to beat Calzaghe, when he's lost to Taylor twice himself and looks like he can not fight more than 6 rounds at pace himself...well...they are a bit pissed off to say the least, so they lash out...especially when so many Bhops supporters say Calzaghe is going to get beat up bad, because he's a Euro-bum.etc...:good

I feel sorry for the interviewer, all she done was ask questions people wanted answered. "Will it go 12 rounds" she asked
:fire:fire enzo wasn't interested and ranted on and on and on someone ratteld his cage. Maybe the previous interviewer asked him what he thought of haye :rofl

I hear ya, but I dont feel the serious disrespect for JC. Sure some idiots will talk shit but IMO real and knowledgeable US boxing fans respect JC. I'm not as against Joe as I am the resulting nonsense. As for beating Lacy and Manfredo? There was no crime in that. Joe was almost entirely Euro based and exposure is the only way to let people know. Joe proved himself and now has the chance to shine. If Hop's was ducking him? They still wouldnt have a fight.
Let losers be loser's, while winners rise above the fray:good

Don't worry...Calzaghe is a winner. All this talk is just to sell the fight in the USA. Yeah, Calzaghe is arrogant, but not as arrogant as Hopkins is if he thinks he can beat him!;)
