Hatton says:
Hatton has bigger fights in america than him. Malignaggi will be next.
HBO aren't interested.
If Hatton is 'running scared' and Witter 'is better than him'.....then Witter should retire with a better legacy than Hatton.
If they did both retire now, Hatton's legacy would be far greater.
Witter's biggest win is Harris, Ricky's last 6 fights blow Witter's out the water.
Malignaggi is on the phone now. Said he will be fighting him later in the year. Hatton has an exciting style. Said Hatton gets away with a lot. Wants to fight him at MSG. Says Mayweather is the best fighter ever and Paulie can't copy him, but he has other tricks to beat Hatton.

For me Witter hasn't done anything to warrant a fight with Hatton, apart from jive talking which anyone can do. Malignaggi vs Witter for the winner to face Hatton would be a good idea then Witter could prove his is worthy.
For what it is worth I think Hatton would demolish Witter anyway. 8)

No suprise I would rather watch Hatton vs Paulie M but I do belive that Hatton vs Witter will happen. But Witter needs another big win to seal the deal . IMO Hatton takes Witter apart.

HBO aren't interested.If you're talking about the Lazcano fight you're correct. It amazes me how he uses "HBO aren't interested" as an excuse for ducking Witter then goes and makes a fight HBO actually aren't interested in. All his fans seem to buy this excuse. Why? Because they are not necessarily fans of Hatton the boxer but are fans of Hatton the personality and never question anything he says or does.
Hatton has had maybe three fights in his whole career that are bigger than the Witter fight. I wouldn't complain if every fight was bigger but that just isn't the case. Since beating Zoo he's fought Maussa, Collazo, Urango and now Lazcano. Ricky Hatton is clearly not as confident of beating Witter as his fans are.
He has no excuse to not fight Witter. He claims Witter hasnt done enough, but is happy going after Lazcano, Mallignaggi, Torres...literally anyone else!
This is the best fight out there at 140 - HBO would snap it up!

Hatton is a fraud and a fake, he said he offered Witter the biggest pay day in his career, that was lies. He would have earned twice over fighting Hopkins.
HBO were interested in Witter vs Hopkins, but not Witter versus Hatton?

If he just said "I got knocked out and wanted a relatively easy fight to get my confidence back"...well, actually, he'd still catch tons of shit, but maybe less than he is now.

It does stink....this is the best fight in the UK and it would be for a proper belt - Witters belt...not that crappy IBO rubbish. I like Hatton, but cant see why he'd want to turn down an opportunity to fight for a prestigious belt other than fear of getting beat and his gravy train running dry too soon. This fight should happen.
