Now its time for all the Taylor hater's to watch a spectacular performance from Jermain... We all know he fights to his opposition. Kelly will be there to be hit, will not be any corey spinks... He has not looked good but he beat Kelly in the amatuers AND will beat him again.

Apples and Oranges... Tyson's style is for professional fighting. Who ever said 'Tyson will win by UD'

Personally i hope taylor loses, just to see how he comes back from a defeat, pavlik deserves this shot, i hope he gets it, is this at 160lb by the way or 168?

taylor to me seems a money grabber, you only have to look at some of his quotes, hope he loses and then we will see how much desire he really has, up until now, ive been less than impressed with him, technically and morally! go pav

Pavlik will destroy HBO hype job Taylor. The suits won't be able to get him a gift decision this time. :-(

Taylor wont be knocked out I dont think, infact I quite favour him to win this, he can be very very technical and patient when he wants to be (Hopkins fights) he has the boxing ability to pick him apart and win a rough decision but against a guy who doesnt take a step backwards and hits hard and has a good chin it will be very hard to do.

He has one of if not the best trainer in the world in hes corner aswell.....dont write off Taylor as if hes nothing just yet.:nono

Go Pavlik!!

Taylor UD.

An exciting fighter will always be more overrated than he actually is. I think Taylors reach and experince on the highest level will help him through 12 competitive rounds.

Great fight though and im glad its happening. I want the winner of this to fight the winner of Calzaghe - Kessler...might be asking for too much though...:blood

basically anyone who thought Taylor was trying to avoid Pavlik has absolutely no credibility

You know...ya gotta take your hat off to a fighter like Taylor.

Like him or not, he has NEVER taken the easy route. Alot of other fighters could learn a thing or two from this guy.

Oh and I think Taylor UDs him.

NEVER taken the easy route?? He's been picking on light-hitters from the lower weight classes ever since Hopkins shook him up. :patsch

I wonder why???:huh You'll all know when Pavlik knocks him senseless. HBO's not gonna be able to get him a gift this time!!!!:yep

So Taylor fights Hopkins twice. Winky. Ouma. Spinks. And now Pavlik.

Thats three top five p4p fighters in a row (Hop twice then Winky). And 5 former world champions in a row....And now the most dangerous fighter in the division.

I dont give a flying fuck what their weight divisions were previously. How many other fighters can claim a last 5 fights like that? Can Kessler? Can Floyd? Can Calzaghe? Can Wlad? Can most anyone?

Get your ridiculously biased eyes out of the equation and its pretty easy to see that he hasnt taken an easy fight since pre-Hopkins (and even that fight was vs Joppy....not a bad fighter...tho he clearly wasnt there to fight that night).

I like Taylor. He isnt one of my favorites. Discount his skills...discount that he has had a few boring fights in a row...But to discount his competition is just assinine.

You know, you dont have to be a heavy hitter to be a good fighter.

Picki'n? Nah nah nah . . . these are just his "keep busy fights". Be Real.
These are the fights that can be made at that moment so he took it.

Gift? That's just an insinuation of a desperate hater. Nobody gets gifts from HBO. HBO doesn't chose the judges IMO. :rofl

Pavlik should have taken one more A class opponent before taking this fight

Gotta say, I agree.

Do I think Pavlik can win...yes. But am I fully sure that he is ready, after beating a VERY LIMITED...yet VERY DANGEROUS fighter in Miranda. Im not so sure.

This is a MAJOR jump for him. Should be a great fight tho.

I'm picking Taylor by TKO or KO, you've got to remember that styles make fights, Pavlik's fight versus Miranda was a boxer puncher versus a slugger, miranda being the slugger,
taylor is not a slugger, he is a cautious, somewhat slick boxer himself, hence his failure to KO spinks and ouma,
he proved in the Winky fight that he CAN fight a fighter who moves forward, whether or not he won the fight being a matter of a different debate, but he was unquestionably competitive
so using those two examples
taylor is harder to hit than miranda and does not commit to his punches as much
pavlik hits harder than winky, is larger than winky, but has a questionable defense
if pavlik attempts to come forward and blow jermain out of the water he will find himself missing most of his punches and eating big countershots, and around round 8 or so GASSING, remember, no one can punch like he does non-stop, especially a hugely weight drained puncher, and unlike miranda, Taylor is able to move backward, slip punches, even eat a punch and then effectively throw 2 or 3 back
pavlik is no bernard hopkins, he is not winky, he doesn't have the workrate or dogged pressure of ouma, or the reflexes and incredible skill set of Spinks, and he will be Taylor's first KO in years.

I respect your analysis pal, but taylor doesn't have the power to stop
pavlik, nor is his skillset enough to shut kelly out. I think this is a pickem fight.

Will they be at 160...or 168??

Per Rafael, they'll fight at 160, with a rematch clause at a higher weight.
