He is against the spilt of 55/45 with the usual mandatory defense's being 75/25 in favor of the champ. So it looks like the WBC will set up a interim title bout with Peter and the next highest available contender, Which is Oliver McCall who is also promoted by Don King. So I would say if things don't get together with Maskaev/Peter soon (Which it does not look good at the moment) Look for Peter and McCall to rumble Oct 6th.

Personally I think this will be a entertaining fight and due to the styles and the chin of McCall i give him a decent shot at the upset win.

I think you guys are hating on McCall due to age. We are in a different era where 40 years plus can still be competitive. Look at the style match up. McCall stuggles with boxer, Peter is hardly that I still think Peter wins by decision. But I think it would be closer than you guys believe it would be.

Even though he has real KO Power. I think the myth of it has been exposed in his recent fights. He had the one devastating KO over Williams. Sykes crumbled out of fear. China chinned Wlad got knocked down by some grazing shots. Toney was clearly off balance. No way Peter knocks down let alone KO's the granite chinned McCall. Peter is a overrated puncher.

I cannot see Peter having much trouble with McCall, unless Peter wrecklessly trades with McCall. Peter has damn a good chin, but I think he is vulnerable when he starts winging wildly...like in the Wlad fight and the first Toney fight...Peter was really stunned and hurt in both of those match ups.

McCall though is terribly slow and he is not much of a pure boxer...two things that would be excellent to beating Peter. However, McCall does have a good chin and knows how to survive.
