The persistent rumor I have been hearing is that he is targetting Lyakhovich for his first defense.

Chagaev is very good puncher i think,he is better than valuev.Valuev is too slow for him. What do u think who can win with Chagaev?

Chagaev's next fight is a unification bout with Sultan Ibragimov i think, both WBO and WBA straps are on the line.

chagaev is atough guy. he will defend his wba-belt against sultan ibragimov, wbo-champ. chagaev is unbeaten, throws a hard left hook and has quite a beard. he might be the toughest champ after klitschko and in a future match between the two we could see a good match-up.

I rate Chagaev as number 2 in the division. He's tough and has skill.

Chagaev is by far the second best Heavy right now imo.

I am definately on the Chag bandwagon. I look forward to the Sultan fight, but I would also like to see him fight Wlad and Peter.

I think he beats Peter pretty easily. Peter really isn't a spectacular puncher, and is very lacking in the skills department. Chagaev busts him up with the straight left and keeps him off balance due to his ability to fight backing up.

Much respect to Chagaev. Two years ago i didn't think Chagaev would break into the top ten, i saw a couple of his fights two and three years ago and now he holds one of the belts and has a unification fight coming up. he proved me wrong, so credit to Chagaev, he is tough.

swapping from being us based to fighting out of germany really did it for him, he has all the tools, technical skills, power and fast hands, at first I thought he was too short for a heavy, but we ve seen who he handled a 7 ft monster like valooev, he is very good, though just HOW good he is weŽll be able to see when he faces a guy like Klitschko. He should beat Ibrag who judging by the briggs fight is nothing all too special, at least in my eyes, though it was the only ibrag fight I have seen to date.

I also think that Chagaev has the better chances of winning the unification but only on points. I dont think chagaev will be able to play around like he did with Valuev that gigantic lazy bastard. Ibragimov is quite fast and swift, both of them southpaws it would be a very interesting fight to watch. Personally i like them both Chagaev and Ibragimov and i have said it many times i wish they did not fight each-other. Both of them undefeated, ruining each-others records.
I would have very much loved to see wlad agains chagaev. that would have made a great fight.
I think Wlad would have had quite a lot of trouble with chagaev.
I red somewhere on the forum that Chagaev was Wlads sparing partner once and they said that wlad had quite a though time with him.

Interesting to watch Wlad Vs Chagaev. I wouldn't bet my money on Wlad.

Cheers.

I,too, think that Chagaev should be able to beat Ibragimov who drawed with Austin, showed a mediocre performance against Briggs, and had to go the full route against Osokin and 8 rounds with that no-hoper McGee who was knocked out in the very first round by Vladimir Virchis.

i just got my wishful thinking goin now, a possible reason as to why chagaev pulled out of the fight vs. sultan.. maybe ruslan will be facing wlad next, already discussed with both holyfield and sultan winners of these fights face each other to unify the wba, wbo, ibf titles???? most likely not but hey we can all dream of unification cant we???:happy :happy
