Hops is more of a strategist now days and Joe is too crafty in his own right for Hops to pull any of that Old Skool shit that he did on Tarver....but he is still Old Skool enough to make Joe look ordinary...fuck it I reckon it will be 'at best' an average fight with a close decision either way.....

I've said this before, but Calzaghe's states in his book that although he wanted this fight for years, he never thought it would be good entertainment.

Still, can't be any worse than Winky vs Hops.

Or can it...

Hopkins' clinching against Winky made Ricky Hatton and John Ruiz blush.

Hopkins/Wright wasn't very exciting, but it wasn't as boring as people claim. Hopkins clinched too much and winky complained too much. boring, but not that boring.

doesnt it suck that even though in your mind it is known that this might be worse than Oscar/Mayweather but still you have that feeling in your gut that maybe...just maybe its gonna be a hella of a fight?

People said the same thing about Hopkins-Tarver and it turned out to be a very good fight.

Agreed.

Hopkins best chance to survive lies in making the fight ugly. Since Hopkins is a smart boxer, this is most likely what is going to happen...

Unless Calzaghe truely shines...

People said the same thing about Hopkins-Tarver and it turned out to be a very good fight. It was? All I saw was a Tarver, who still thought he was in a scripted movie.

Calzaghe will keep the pace very fast, he keeps busy, not sure if it can get boring. However, the ref will be there to help Hopkins and the judges?

I am actually looking forward more for the weigh-in, the last presser, some war of nerves, some insults, the ring entrances, the presentations, the boos and the cheers, the 1 minute breaks and the trainers instructions and the post-fight interviews more than the fight itself... May be one of the last times I will see them side-stepping, feinting, parrying and slipping so they can well get on a sleep inducing, rhythmless non-action fight that that will do it for me... Please, Bernard and Joe, pose a lot, potshot and make grims at each other, wrestle and do a lot of tricky, undetected dirty moves, alot of mind games and make my day April 19th. Anything more than that simply won't do.

Yes . . . exactly. Bhops at his age will not stand and trade . . . he'll try to win this . . . round by round on points. If he doesn't succeed then he'll lose on points.
