The shock and the HORROR!!
Fresh off of a brutal loss to fellow kickboxer Jan Nortje last month in his home state of Washington, things aren’t getting much better for former NFL lineman and K-1 star Bob Sapp.
The Japanese legend is reportedly connected to the same BALCO steroids rings that has tarnished the legacy of home run king Barry Bonds. The news comes from an AP report ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) published today:
Novitzky said 30 athletes were called to testify before the grand jury in 2003. Novitzky didn’t identify any of the athletes, but testified there was “some evidence” that professional wrestler Bob Sapp — who briefly played in the NFL — bought steroids from chemist Patrick Arnold.
Arnold is also said to have created the unique designer steroids that Bonds took before breaking Major League Baseball’s home run record last year.
Unlike Bonds, Sapp was not called to testify under a grand jury last year, so he shouldn’t be seeing much trouble other than the rest of the world now knowing that his massive size wasn’t all natural. Not much of a surprise in my opinion.
I’m not so sure Sapp used steroids to get bigger as much as he did to maintain his weight. He has visibly gotten smaller in recent years

I'm curious as to why Sapp would spend the huge money for the designer stuff when he wasn't tested and could use whatever he wanted.

Sapp is the most muscular fighter I have ever seen. Absolutley no surprise there.
I am also pretty sure that Jeff Monson , and Ron Waterman are on something.

I am also pretty sure that Jeff Monson , and Ron Waterman are on something.Im sure Waterman was a former bodybuilder. As for Monson he used to fight at light heavy. Now his a STACKED heavyweight with the trap development of a pro builder. I know he uses power lifting regimes while training but considering the huge diffrence in his musculature compared to when he was at light heavy im pretty sure he was on something.

At a solid 240lbs bearing in mind Monson is fairly short at around 5ft 9 care to explain how?

Look at the size of his skull, wrists etc, he's naturally built like a tank, some people are. When he was fightin at 205 he was probably 225-30 on fight night, Jeffs been wrestling competitively over half his life he knows how to cut weight.
Now I dont know hes clean for sure, I just look at him and think he a tank. Guys like kerr and Coleman I think think were obviously carrying a lot of muscle thier frame couldnt handle.

Possible probable who knows i guess. Monson does employ a power lifting regime for his training so who knows. But note Coleman Kerr and Ron all wrestled there entire careers. There not small guys. Its common knowledge Coleman and Kerr juiced. Ron i believe more than likely has because of his muscle development. Oh well i guess its all moot..

Monson has said hes used in the past.
Yeah he seems to be a pretty honest guy. He also said at the level he competes at the majority of fighters use or have used some performance enhancer which I don't find that hard to believe.

Definitely. I think MMA is as dirty a sport as any (other than perhaps cycling).
I just thought Monson was not an obvious 'juicer' (like Kerr, Coleman etc). I wouldnt doubt non juicers are a minority in top level competition.

Yeah there was an interview on Sherdog Radio where Monson said he had used steroids and growth hormone. I remember they pressed him if he was using it now and he just said "My tests came back clean".
