Top 10 Cubans of all-time:

10 Joel Casamayor
9 Mario Kidelan
8 Felix Savon
7 Benny Paret
6 Lus Manuel Rodriguez
5 Sugar Ramos
4 Tefilo Stevenson
3 Kid Chocolate
2 Jose Napoles
1 Kid Gavilan

Mentions:

Nino Valdez, Juan Carlos Gomez, Jose Ribalta, Florentino Fernandez, Kid Charol, Isaac Logart, Jose Stable, Manuel Quintero, Diosbelys Hurtado, Irleis Perez, Douglas Vailant, Jose Legra, Ciro Morasen and Black Bill

That was so hard to put together. I do not pretend for one second to of seen many of these fighters. I had to rate many of them on names on their resume and the performances against them names.

Although I have never done this before, I do believe that that because of the politcal situation in Cuba, the three great Cuban amateur fighters needed to be put on this list to do it justice. But I can understand why people would not want to see them there.

It's great to see the resurgence of Cuban boxing. It's a shame that this list could have been easily ten times longer were if not for the communist regime banning boxing for all of those years

Nothing wrong with a Communist regime, Cuba is much better country for what Castro has done IMO; and boxing was not banned from Cuba...

if it wasnt for chocolate gavilan wouldn't even be a boxer in the first place, so is the majority of the cubans who were inspiired by kid chocolate.

There's nothing wrong with a Communist regime unless you happen to live under one.
But if you're the type of person who likes having no freedom of speech or religion, are partial to a totalitarian government, like being kept in the dark through censorship and media propaganda, enjoy facing torture and arbitrary executions for dissident beliefs then Communism's definately for you.
Although I've a suspicion you're being a little flippant with your statements I find it hard to believe you can justify the well doumented human rights abuses that occur in China,North Korea and indeed Cuba, the last remaining Communist/Stalinist regimes.

Well actually Cuba is not communist and although I like a lot of Marx's theories, no one has really given it a go.

There are massive advantages to banning superstitious faith, the silly concept of good and bad (that is prevalent in the west) and democracy, if you have the right people leading...

But anyway this has nothing to do with boxing, (although that is my fault, I started it) Sorry.

The only point I was making is that if professional sports were not banned, there would have been sports icons in Cuba in not only Boxing, but baseball & other sports as well. Napoles could have been practically a national hero living in havana instead of being broke & struggling like he is... Stevenson could have been the first Cuban Heavyweight Champion of the World. An incredible source of national pride. These athelete's from the Fifties thru the eighties were not given the option to turn professional & showcase thier skills on the worldstage. That is what freedom is all about, every man has the opurtunity to make his own destiny good or bad.

Tefilio Stevenson no doubt would have been a top 5 heavyweigth if he was allowed to turn pro, IMO. Good skills, great power, and imposing size would have made him a nightmare for any heavyweight.:good

Guillermo Rigondeaux deserves a shout just because of his amateur record and his dominant victories in the professional ranks.

No. Amateur record doesn´t matter and he didn´t do enough in the pro.

IMO Gavilan, Napoles, Rodriguez and Chocolate are in the same tier and a league above the rest.
