I watched Brewster/Golota and he starched the Godly Golota in 58 seconds.does that mean Golota have glass chin? Legitemate question. and why?

I dont know if he has a glass chin, anyone can get kncoekd down by big shots like that, but he definitely mentally fell apart when he was under fire, like he did against Lewis, Tyson, Bowe, and Brewster. Its not like he was unconscious in those fights.

I don't think he has glass chin. He is rather stiff on the begining of the fight and easy to KO then.

Lower than average chin, he took some good shots against Bowe but when he hit 30 he seemed to lose alot of hes ability to take a shot, especially for a 6'4 240lb man.

Lol, I agree. His chin is good as you could see in the Bowe fights, but when your brain isn't there it doesn't matter much.

He was not KTFO by Michael Grant. Damn people nowadays dont even watch fights they go straight to boxrec. He was knocked down by Micheal Grant, got up, wasnt even hurt, said he doesnt want to continue, mental breakdown. Golota has average chin, definitly not glass, its all mental with him.

Golota has NEVER been KTFO. He always got up after a KD. Always. Golota was just a mentally weak...poor guy.

It's funny, he has been knocked down quite a few times but he's not someone I'd think of as having a weak chin, even then.
Bowe, Lewis, Tyson and Brewster were all heavy punchers. Grant was a pretty good puncher too, and caught Golota with a sweet right hand on the point of the chin.
So while he's been down a bit, they are understandable KDs. It's not like he was getting parked on his ass by weak hitters.

He has an average chin, but his ability to handle pressure is what kills him. He has heart, as all fighters do, but when things are not going his way, he packs it in and calls it a night.

Everytime he's been knocked down he looked perfectly concious. It's hard to put his chin on a scale, but I guess I'll say he just has an average chin.

While his chin is not cast iron it isn't anywhere near glass. You only have to watch the 2nd fight with Bowe where he had his jaw fractured from Bowe's long righ hands to see he didn't have a bad chin.
While he was KO'd by big punchers like Brewster and Lewis it doesn't mean he had a bad chin, he just got hit with bombs from punchers who could KO most fighters. The Grant stoppage had as much as his fragile mental state as his chin as that was a fight he should have definately won.
Golota has a decent to good chin in my opinion, but he often crumbled under pressure so when he was floored he didn't respond well to it.

He seems to freeze against punchers.
Not necessarily that his chin lacks the ability to take good shots, but it seems like a mental thing.
Especially since a lot of those attacks came so early in the fight.

Glass brain is probably right. I do not really think he is dumb in the sense of having a low IQ. He definitely has issues though. He is not quite "right" upstairs.

Spiderweb strand thick glass nerves!
I've never seen him truly "hurt", only dazed and confused. He always seems capable of getting up, but the fight goes out of him after most knockdowns.
I'd actually give him a "B" rating on his chin, and a "D-" (or worse) on his mental fortitude.
I wonder (seriously) if he has ever consulted a hypnotist regarding his problem.

It was no sevret what made him the way he is.Andrew was an orphan with a stutter who got picked on growing up which why he became a Boxer in the first place.
The same things that lead him to becomming a Boxer are the same things that eat at him.I think not until recently he has come to terms with his past.He has been a lot more mellow in the past few years.Too bad mental stability came only after his fighting prime.

Exactly. Golota did not have a true glass jaw, like Hasim Rahman or Herbie Hide. Guys with true china chins get knocked out cold, and usually quite a few times at that. Golota was never laid out cold like those type of guys. He simply fell apart mentally when under fire. There's a difference.:yep

I really do wish Golota the best and would like to see him make one final run at the championship. If he can conquer his nerves he be a serious threat to virtually any HW title holder. Wlad could obviously knock him down, but isn't usually a lightning starter himself anyway.
Perhaps a rematch with Grant would be in order -- he needs to avenge a loss to gain some confidence. Prove his metaphysical "Chin".

Golota has a good chin. Not Tua like granite, but good. He's been bombed out early a few times, but only cause he didn't get a to warm up and he's a slow/nervous starter. Golota showed an amazing chin vs Bowe, Pouha and Tyson.
...bit like bruno...a good chin, just an inability to cope with extreme pressure....

nah Golota's chin above average for heavyweights, it's just his mental ability or lack there of to cope with shock and awe. glass chin candidates usually have a funny reaction to being hit.
chicken dance, drooling, eyes roll up into their heads, extremely bad equilibrium after getting up.
there are some fighters who have good beards like chris byrd who drooled a bit against ike ibuchi, BUT that was after a massive hook and some previous excellent shots.
if a fighter displays the above symptoms from ONE punch, or punches that dont seem that hard (snapping the head around etc.) then yeah they deserve glass chin status.
golota got up from the kd's, and looked rather okay but he had the look of "oh shit, this is too hard, fuck it".

Golota has one of the best chins ever seen in the sport.
Brewster scored knock-downs, not knock-outs. Each time Golota was up on the count of one. He simply got caught cold... many call it getting ICED.
In his fight against Tyson, Golota absorbed on of the biggest right hands the public had ever seen Tyson throw. Golota's glove touched the canvas and he was up on one... if that's not a good chin, I don't know what is.
And by the way, for those who think Grant knocked him out, think again. Golota took a series of big punches and was beaten down and up on two. He could have easily continued but when the ref asked the punch drunk Golota if he wanted to continue, Golota said no. As Big George Foreman commented during the fight... you don't ask a man if he wants to continue when he's not sure where he is. Golota should have taken a knee for an 8 count and he would have cruised to an easy victory, especially after beating the ever living hell of of Grant throughout the entire fight.
"Glass brain" and "glass will" are much better descriptions for Andrew.

Not always, but usually something glass is translated to glass chin which is
very popular term and for some people only term which they understand.
For example Wlads glass stamina was leading him to collapsing vs Purity and Brewster
and finally punches ended the fight so glass stamina => glass chin.
More examples may be provided if needed.

He went down every time Golota land some nice combo on them.
And more importantly if the punches on balls would be permitted then Golota would legitimately KO Bowe.
Bottom line: Bowe have glass balls. :smoke

Golota's chin is average...if it was below average then Ruiz and Bowe would've stopped him...anybody can be KOed when stiff, which Golota can be early in a fight, and a big puncher can KO anybody, anytime....

didn't golota have some type of injury to his leg against Grant that might explain that one. i think it's established that golota had a fractured cheekbone in the Tyson fight and that he was actually smart for quitting that fight.

Golota had never been bombed out with one punch until a 37 year old Golota got caught cold by Brewster's left hook. And even then he got up after every knockdown, wanting to continue. All his other knockdowns had been from an acumulation of big shots to put him down, and he always got up from those as well.
Without a doubt, Golota has a good chin. A prime Golota had an EXCELLENT chin. See Golota-Bowe, Pouha, Tyson.
