C'mon now, I love Diego (R.I.P), but are we really saying beating a horribly weight drained, chinny 130 pound Chico is a better win than beating De La Hoya, even a faded version, all the way at 154?

In terms of where he "looked" best, as in most exciting and most aesthetically pleasing, I'd go Gatti/ Corrales/ Hatton, with N'Dou a close fourth. If we're going with best as in best accomplishment, I'd go De La/ Hatton/ Castillo II.

Yes, we are.

Corrales was undefeated and was a MONSTER at that weight leading up to the PBF fight. Floyd utterly DESTROYED HIM!!!

So again, yes....we are. And as I said...its by a WIDE margin.

From an entertainment stand point, the Corley, N'dou and Augustus fights are all up there. From a technical stand point, I'd probably say the Chico fight. Though I watch Mayweather-Judah more than any of them.

His recent performance v Hatton was pure class, bully the bully, let him wear himself out, potshot and push him back early on, thats all of what he did early on

Then box his head off after beating Hatton at his own game!

Many on Floyd´s super featherweight and lightweight matches, as example Corrales, Castillo 1 & 2, N'dou. And i want to add the Bruseles-fight although it was at super lightweight.

Probably two of his best fights against Augustus and Ndou you haven't included. Ndou being probably his most exciting IMO.

I would say that is his best performance.

Not just because he won, but the manner of the victory. I think plenty of people had tried to figure out how to beat Hatton, but I wouldn't imagine many would have suggested standing and trading - a few of tried that and just been eaten alive at 140.

For me it was Corrales.

Watching Corrales lack of boxing brain in that fight and robotic following of PBF kinda bored me. It wasnt even a fight and IMO, looked like Tito vs Wright. These fighters cant seem to get that urge to win when loosing of going for broke or even change their style 1 bit.

Or is the OP asking which fight did PBF fight best rather than best as in most enjoyable fight?

He wants the most exciting. But for me, Corrales was the most exciting because of the drama. I kept thinking that Corrales could catch him and end this fight at any moment.

For actual action, his fight with Ndou was very good.

Well its like he didn't even know what a jab was, he looked so casual just walking towards PBF where PBF would just sidestep away from the ropes and could never really corner him. After a few rounds you would think that following him around the ring wont do and he actually needs to start cutting him off. For the puncher he also seemed afraid to trade, despite having the much shorter reach(but taller), he was afraid to go inside and just try to maul PBF, instead he would throw wide looping punches from mid range where he would repeatedly get caught with PBF straight right.

Maybe it was just the frustration of watching something round after round that seemed painfully obvious on how to adjust to. Similar to Taylor not being able to adjust to Spinks when the adjustment is something as simple as throwing punches.

Yah, I get your point. I just had it in my head that the Corrales, who was favored and had that devastating power, would eventually catch him. I knew less about the sport then and couldn't tell he wasn't ad******g correctly.

lol, I thought you've been a follower of boxing for decades. When did you start?

I had the luxury of watching the fight a year after it happened so I suppose it never had that suspense and I wasnt feeling the hype. May have been different if it was live, its always different.

I started following it in the mid 80's as a kid. But you only remember the pure excitement and the sport. Who won, who lost, how good they looked doing it in the elementary sense. But not in an analytical sense you know what I mean?

In the late 90's early 2000's I started to analyze a bit more, but I was also just getting into my marriage and starting school. I am also a bigger NFL fan than I am a boxing fan, so I spent more time analyzing that than anything. In the past 3-4 years though, I really got into true analysis, and now when I look back at fights, I see all the things that I missed as a kid or when I was just watching for love of the sport.

Yes, yes I am:deal I also live in an NFL city. (Jacksonville Jaguars) and being from Pensacola, yes I have RJJ as a hometown hero, but I also have Emmitt Smith, the all time leading rusher in the NFL.

Football is my sport....I played in High School, would have played in College had I not gotten married and gotten off track.

I actually wanted to be a sports writer for a long time so I studied alot of the major sports. I actually like College Football more than any other sport, followed by the NFL, boxing, and then NBA and NCAA basketball.

Not an NFL fan?

Just look at my location and that'll answer your question. We spit on NFL! lol just j/k.

Didn't think you could be this much of a boxing fan but an even bigger NFL fan. Do you spend time in NFL forums too? Or does the popularity of it means you can talk about it with real people.

Easily Corrales.

Also if we're taking about his best fights or most exciting fights, then some of these have to go. Baldomir fight was boring as hell. Nobody cared about Sharmba Mitchell. JLC I can't be considered his best fight because many felt he loss that fight. I would replace these three with his fights with Hernandez, N'Dou, and Corley.

In terms of how well he performed, though he dominated Corrales he did it entirely using his physical gifts of foot/hand speed and power. His best performances as a BOXER were against Zab Judah and Ricky Hatton. Keep in mind that he was very close to knocking out Zab Judah before Judah caused a long interruption in the action.

In terms of action, I think his fight with Emanuel Burton was very exciting, so were his fights with N'Dou and Corley.

In terms of his most dominant win, many say Corrales but I also think the Gatti fight was amazing. wikipedia could change their picture of a punching bag to a photo of Gatti's face after that fight and it wouldn't be inaccurate.

Also his dismantling of Genaro Hernandez was very impressive considering Hernandez is actually an A level fighter unlike Gatti. He actually tried to give Mayweather a fight too, unlike Corrales who was so mystified by Floyd's hand speed and lateral movement that he pretty much gave up halfway through the fight.

Bingo.....I try to talk boxing with people in person, and they have no idea who I am talking about unless it's Tyson, DLH, or some old generation fighter. You can start a conversation with anyone about the NFL here, even women half the time.

All this time and I never noticed you were from the UK.
