Goldenboy Promotions will do Cassamayor v Juan Diaz for the Ring belt at 135.

Cassa pulled a win out of his ass and Diaz got spanked by Campbell and these two fight for the "fairer and impartial" Ring belt? what a friggin joke. Why don't they just call it the GoldenRing?

This means Nate Campbell will more than likely do his WBO mandatory against Amir Khan as he just won a WBO eliminator. Cassa gets stripped of the interim title by facing Diaz.

? Isn't Casa already the ring belt holder, in this case this is just a defense.

Very decent scrap indeed.
If Diaz wins, then u would think a rematch with Campbell would be a must.

Casamayor is the Ring belt holder. Nothing wrong with this at all. Campbell will get busted up by Khan IMO. Needs to stick on Amir's chest and turn it into a brawl. Some good fights.

I dont know if the Khan fight would come off.

For all his amazingness Amir hasnt been in there with someone who can put him under any real pressure.

I mean all of the better fighters he has been in there with were far from punchers. Imagine going from guys like Kristjansen and St Clair to one of hardest punchers in the division, who can throw 1000 punches a fight
Not sure if Khan's people would want to chuck him in there yet.

I have no problem with Khan facing Campbell at this early stage. The kid has been stepping up each fight and deserve to showcase his wares to the rest of the world.

So if Diaz beats Cassamayor (huge chance), you wont have any problem saying Diaz is the "Ring" champ?...even after Campbell handed his ass to him? I guess you will call him lineal too? lol

That's ridiculous. Goldenboy should have made Cassa v Campbell for the Ring belt don't you think? Nate is screaming to fight Cassamayor and it's the ONLY logical fight to make re bragging rights for "the man" at 135. No???

My point is...Diaz has no right to be fighting for the Ring belt right now. Nate does. But Cassa and Goldenboy don't wont to fight him.

Oh yeah...Goldie owns the Ring and promotes both Cassamayor and Diaz. Go figure.

Ring belt is loosing credibilty. Goldenboy owns it, so we can not be guaranteed it will be free from bias.

Which is a shame because after the dilution of what it means to be world champion by all the ABC belts, the only rankings that seem to still have some respect were the ring's.

Diac will pound Casa into submission. This will set up Diaz vs Katsidis nicely...Bring it on.

Then why did ****** have him fight in an eliminator? :huh

It wont make sense if the WBO order Nate to fight his mandatory (Khan), which is due soon and they refuse. Khan will lose his mandatory challenger status and will go to the end of the line.

Joel showed he has a bit more in the tank so I wont write him off.

It will be a great fight and I will go Joel close UD.

That fight with rocky was great.....had everything...but a aussie win that is.

I think Campbell is the best at 135.

I agree that Cassa v Diaz is a decent fight. I think Diaz is too much for him though, but it's a good scrap.

But any credibility the Ring belt had is now lost imo. With GBP buying it, it's just become a closed shop for GBP fighters. And since the Ring belt can only be won inside the ring, Goldenboy could keep it in house for 100 years by simply matching their own fighters. I mean, they have a monopoly on the lightweight division..Diaz, Cassa, Santa Cruz, Katsidis.

I liked the Ring as a magazine. I just need to remind myself that's all it really is.

Casamayor has always been the man to beat in the division. Juan Diaz collecting a few alphabet belts did nothing to change my opinion of who was top dog in the division.

Agreed.

So in a way I really feel Casa has beaten whilst he had the ring belt and coupled with his lack of activity I reckon he just isnt the man at lightweight right now.
