I haven't seen much of Monzon, only heard alot about him. I do know that Hearns was still very capable and talented at this weight. Did Monzon have enought fire power to take Hearns out. I would say that Hearns had the edge in speed and "maybe" power, and they were both roughly the same height

I think Monzon would fight him a lot like he fought Bienvenuti the first time. Boxing him, but constantly pressuring him and roughing him up. Don't want to go into too much explaination but I say he stops Hearns late.

Monzon, Hearns wasnt the same fighter at or above 160....Monzon is one of the best ever at that weight. Probably by late stoppage as well.

...............I don't see how you could go against Monzon in this matchup, but I will say this much; Monzon was just upright enough and gave enough distance to where Hearns could greatly trouble him with that sterling jab and occasional rights (he shouldn't lean too heavily on them, as Monzon was real good at slipping inside and nullifying the right hand).
I got a real find lately in getting a copy of the second Monzon-Briscoe fight. Well, a good part of it anyway, several rounds are missing, but it's still a hell of a thing to watch. In round nine of that fight, Briscoe nails Monzon HARD, and he falls, momentaily helpless, against the ropes. For a good 15-20 seconds, he seems out of it, but then he came back as if nothing had happened, back to sharpshooting with such fluidity and unerring accuracy that it reinforced my opinion of him as the best middleweight ever. The recuperative powers I saw there would be something that would thwart anything Hearns would throw at him, and Monzon was so deceptively physical; he just broke guys down, piece by piece, and Hearns didn't have the legs to see him through 15 rounds against this monster.
Monzon TKO 9

I must go with Monzon as well. Unlike Tommy, Charlie is a natural MW. It would be a good one, but Monzon wins on late TKO.

Agree with this asessment.
