From out of nowhere this has happened - apparently Danny flew to Florida on Tuesday and will fight some bum on the Woods-Tarver / Johnson-Dawson undercard.
Strange British heavyweight action in this last week.

hmm, I wonder what Danny Williams will turn up for this one, morbidly obese Danny who lost to Audley or superslim Danny who turned up for Gammer?
& then the next question, which mental state will he turn up in?
Hes certainly a conundrum is Danny Williams, very hard to second guess him & predict his fights.
Excellent. Always been a fan of Danny. The non-fat version anyway

Add to that where and when he will turn up to take a fight now.
Danny's been an enigma his whole career - good fun to watch though (apart from that first fight with A-Force obviously)

Danny Williams is a legend in British Heavyweight boxing. His career has been incredible fun to watch. I'd love to see him really dedicate himself, get into proper physical and mental shape, and take one final big run for a title shot.
How is Sam Peter any better than Williams at his peak?

I doubt whether Setanta will show it. Other than the main event they tend to choose to show Steve Bunce's ugly mug over undercards.

Danny is better than Sam Peter, but his dedication and mental health is woeful.
Julius Francis as he is now is better than Sam Peter.

Danny only seems to get fat when he's in training.
Good luck to him out there. Maybe it will fall through so he has to take on Audley the week after.

Yep. That would be sweet revenge on the Yanks for coming into the war two years late.

setanta will at least try and show highlights of the fight i reckon. Are setanta going to have there own team out there or us commentators?

Actually this has been known for nearly a week now.
Altho a chap who has spoken with Danny says he wont be fighting Al Cole and will actually be fighting Marcus Magee, who is no doubt shitter but has actually fought in the last 3 years unlike Cole.
To be honest tho I heard about the Magee business on Tuesday and no official change has been announced. Ill only actually know when they walk into the ring I guess.

Apparently he will be facing Magee.

Apparently he will be facing Magee. Setanta site confirms Williams will be fighting Marcus McGee.
I doubt whether Setanta will show it. Other than the main event they tend to choose to show Steve Bunce's ugly mug over undercards. They should have time to show it as I doubt this fight is going to last long but you never know with setanta.

Not sure I really want to see Anus Force in the ring with anybody.

Bit of a shame Danny took the hardest title shot in Vitali :( He had no bloody chance. He would have faired alot better with the others since.

yeh he really should have fought a few ranked guys and gone for a lesser belt holder. To be fair though he got over a million to fight klitschko so you cant blame him.

He weighed in at 258lbs, which isn't too bad for a tune-up fight. a stone less than his weight for Oleg Platov.

Hope he is more focussed than he was for the Platov fight when he was taking lots of shots and looking for a 1 punch ko.

I've seen McGee fight Grant, if that's his usual quality then it should be easy and early for Danny.
according to boxrec he came in at 258.
they didn't show it on setanta but they were probably limited to what showtime broadcast anyway. the commentators said danny williams had his opponent down in the first but then just stepped off the gas cos he wanted to get some rounds in.
