............It seems like every race over 5k I've done features someone standing on a curb somewhere blaring Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty." :lol: Strangely, it seems to help the energy level. You do feel better after heaing it. I think it helps that the beat has roughly the same cadence to it as fast footsteps.

I always train to something with a fast beat and something that is loud. I am a huge Rock and Heavy Metal fan so I got a wide range of things to choose from. But I do like other music so it depends what im doing. Often on a run I like to put some classical on the mp3 player and just disapear into my own thoughts.
