Alexis Arguello has a great Style

I been watching film of him in his prime. i really like his style and his all around abilities. He reminds of a lightweight joe louis. not just in the way he throws punches, but also in his demeanor and class.

Your comparison with Louis is spot on thats who he has allways reminded me of,patient and probing behind a hard jab with that perfectly delivered deadly right finisher cocked and ready,his foot work was a little slow ,but his judgement of distance and timing made up for it a great fighter ,and by all accounts a decent man.

I work with kids, and anytime I get a tall lanky one I tell them to look at Arguellos fights on you tube. Always had his hands up, great fundamentals, and could punch like a mule. Fought with much poise as well.

Excellent fighter. A true great. He reminded me of a cobra waiting to strike: He's out there not looking particularly threatening then BAM! - fight over. He had amazing fluidity and was just an all-round polished performer.
