I've never seen anything like this before in my life. Germany has now cemented it's place as the most corrupt country when it comes to boxing.:patsch

Yeah i watched that vid the other week.
1 of the most bullshit refereeing performances u could ever witness.
Helping him up after the knock down.
Braithwaite had to nearly kill Hernandez to win that bout.

I rememer after Tszyu put Hatton down with a body shot, the ref Parris leaned over Hatton and asked 'was it low Ricky?'.
that fight was a joke.

Great fight. I had big things expected of Hernandez but I will be shortening my estimations of what he can achieve now. The fight was good and the ref did remember who his employers were but it really did not matter in the end, Big Truck ran him over and must now be re entering thet title frame. Maybe another fight against another prospect and he can get back in the mix.

Holy shit!
This type of thing isn't new, but in the last 30 years or so it's pretty unheard of.
Fucking disgraceful.

A few of us were having this discussion in another thread. Let's see what we've learned.
1.) The referees in Germany are very polite - not only will they give u a long count (Krasniqi/Brewster) but they'll also help you up after a knockdown from time to time (Braithewaite/Hernandez).
2.) The referees in Germany believe in the safety of the fighters. Just look at Roger Tillerman. He wouldn't let Robin Reid lay a glove on Sven Ottke without penalizing him.
3.) The Scorpions and Kraftwerk are great German bands. :guitar

Did you watch Krasniqi vs. Brewster? That was much, much worse.

The ref already explained his actions:

And Sauerland also had something to say about it:

I watched this fight live, and couldn't believe it.
I don't speak German, but I was wondering at the time what the announcers were saying about that bullshit.

Though when first watching the fight I was saying 'what the FUCK is he doing!' when the ref was helping up Hernandez, I now believe the ref's explanation that he though it was a slip at first.
It was a very short right hand that hurt Yoan and the ref had a bad angle on it and his reaction was a typical reaction from a referee when a fighter slips down.
After he noticed he was hurt he bagan to count and sent Braitwaite to the neutral corner.
His handling of the subsequent knockdowns was textbook.
It was an honest mistake.

Im not so sure about #2, not after Abrahams jaw was dangling to his chest and they still refused to stop the fight. They were very polite and protective of him in that fight though, and gave him plenty of breaks, i suppose to not risk other injuries. :thumbsup

I've never seen anything like this before in my life. Germany has now cemented it's place as the most corrupt country when it comes to boxing.
The crooked referee was a Spaniard (Jose Ignacio Martinez) not a German.
The crooked promoter was a Turk (Ahmet Öner) not a German.
Stop picking on the Germans. :nono
