What is next for Isufu? Will he ever again fight on American soil? On American television? At all?
After a couple of VERY unnecessary career setbacks (thoroughly robbed against Vernon, and the Winky fight was a hopeless, ill-advised affair that really proved nothing for either man), what are his best options to set things right?
He definitely needs to return to LMW if anything. And start making fights happen there soon, as he's rather far out of position for title contention at the moment. His recognition could carry him into opportunities to feast on a Verno Phillips or Sechew Powell to get back in the running.
Perhaps more satisfactorily than vying for a belt at his age (especially since his chances with a Spinks or Simms are questionable), he could revenge any of the three losses he has against guys who are actually his size.
DLH is probably not chomping at the bit, but if the well runs dry and all the lucrative opponents are unavailable, Ike does have a vaguely recognizable name to the public (if only for having dropped a controversial decision to DLH).
Retiring Feroz, the only guy who has legitimately defeated him in a fairly matched fight, would be a great trophy if that head didn't already have a spot reserved on Mayo's mantle. :yep
And speaking of Mayorga victims, Forrest's decision to pick on Baldomir to chase a trinket instead of manning up and giving Quartey a rematch tells us all we need to know about the possibility of a second encounter. Unless Quartey can plow through enough 154 lbers to become the #1 contender to the vacant WBC belt Forrest is gunning for..:think
Or he could fight a few bums in Accra and retire. Which, sadly, he probably will. And can you really blame him?
