he speaks English there is no reason for HBO to pay someone to translate interviews. Also he acts like he doesnt understand the questions. I have no problem with his corner speaking Spanish during the fight, but pre/post fight interviews on an American telecast should be done in English.

Im from about 10 miles from were Tony is from in LA, and I will tell you first hand that it isnt East LA. The Mexican population isnt nearly as high there as in other areas of LA. With that being said, I will call Tony a fake a$$ SOB. The fact that he didnt move back to Mexico until he was grade school age Im pretty sure that Tony can speak english.

I have a little story that may give some insight as to why he and many other Latin fighters pretend that they cant speak english.

For the first year that I dated my wife(who is mexican), her dad and mom only spoke to me in spanish, even though at the time I could barely understand a word. Then one day about a year into our relationship I stopped by her house and her dad was in the front doing some yard work. He asked me to help him get the riding mower out of the back of his truck......IN PERFECT ENGLISH. I was like WTF Pedro(not his name), all this time I thought that you couldnt speak english, why would you do that. He told me "In our culture its viewed as turning your back on your people and homeland if you fully embrace another culture, My wife and I decided when we first came here that we would only speak spanish at home so our kids can at least have that"

Now keep in mind that my wifes dad is from the same area as Tony.

I lost respect for Margie last night. He was actin like such a bitch after the fight i almost thought he would say that Williams just ran all night. Pretending not to know English doesnt help either. My boy Barrera was fucking born in Mexico and he can speak English pretty good. That old school Mexican philosophy of not speaking English even if you know it like Chavez and i think Morales too is getting played out. Quit caring about what people might say about you and speak up.
