I don't think Williams looked that spectacular. Margarito was landing the more aggressive shots the entire night. Many people will look at the compubox numbers showing that Williams threw 600 more punches but i look at it as he MISSED 600 punches when margarito was barely moving his head. Not to mention, the height difference between the 2 was more like 3-4 inches and reach difference was huge. Margarito almost flattened Williams in the 11th which should have been a 2 point round. I had the fight a draw

Clear 8-4 victory for PW. Couldn't be easier to score.
Paul slipped alot more often and more effectively than Tony blocked. And slipping is harder than blocking so it deserves a greater amount of credit anyway.

wtf a draw? If your not a fan of either fighter, then maybe you should find a new sport to follow...

I wasnt to overly impressed because Williams didnt show anything new. He just showed that his style can work at the elite level.

Has anybody seen Yahoo Sports? Calling this a "boxing controversy." Kevin Iole thought Margarito won 116-112 and many other sports writers did. This was an easy fight to score for the most part and I thought Williams clearly won it.

Don't see how Margarito got a draw out of that. Pretty much everyone is saying Williams won by a clear UD.

if you arent impressed with williams then you can be less impressed with margo because williams clearly beat him. but with that size and punchrate, williams will bother anybody.
Christ, how can anyone think Margarito won? I had it either 8-4 or even 9-3 to Williams. Outworked him. Simple as that. There is no fucking way Margarito won 8 rounds. Bullshit.

Not impressed by Williams at all.
Margarito lost because of a slow start, and that's all.
I had it 7-5 Williams, 6-5 going into the 12th.
a 'slow start' is an appropriate call on a couple of rounds of low activity. not being outclassed for the first full half of a championship bout.

Pretty clear cut 8-4 victory for Williams.
Williams might be able to keep this style up for a year or two more.. tops.
As soon as he loses a step, he's done.

Only saving face. Williams clearly won that fight.

I was deathly afraid that Williams was going to get robbed by homecookers. When I heard the scores read out, there were two thoughts in my head: 1. it wasn't that close, god damn it. 2. oh well screw it. all that really matters is...AND NEW!!! :happy
