View Full Version : Tony "Crybaby" Margarito blew it

He had started to just barely earn a little bit of respect from me in those late rounds with his ability to eat short uppercuts and keep working his way inside. He started to find and stun Paul in the later rounds, which earlier in the fight I thought would not happen.

But that respect disappeared just as quickly the moment that faggot opened his mouth in the post-fight interview (or rather, the moment ray translated his pathetic sour grapes).

Fuck that stupid faggot, may his trip down the toiletbowl of obsolescence see him get brutally KO'ed by tomato cans on the VS and ESPN cards that are the highest stage he can look forward to.

Exactly, that glorified journeyman's trip is over, he's nothing but a whiny bitch and always has been.

Good riddance, welcome to the gate keeper level.

Did you see his reaction when Paul came over for the obligatory post-fight hug.. Tony kinda shunned him off, acting like.. you know you didn't win.

Sour grapes for sure... Tony you lost.. you got beat.. accept it.

yeah, hes a sore loser but he isnt the first one and wont be the last one

He lost at least two thirds of the biggest fight of his life, and of the rounds he lost, not a single one was very close. And he proceded to throw a veritable tantrum dramatically flailing his arms and making lemon-face, scowling at the victor, and spent his entire post fight interview twisting every question into a reaffirmation of how unfair the very generous (in his favor) decision was. A little worse than the typical denial bluster.

It doesn't help that I already didn't like him much. Even in the pre-fight interview he came across as cockier than he'd earned a right to be. And honestly, after tonight's performance, specifically the second half, if he'd been humble, I might have said "this is an ok guy, very probably out of the title contention scene, but hopefully he can get some halfway decent paychecks before he's through". now, fuck it. let his ass starve.

I know.. I didnt know he was an asshole like that. I most def am going to rip his non boxing ass off. Does anybody notice that he cant actually box..lol .My brother noticed that every time they were in the center of the ring he got exposed. He resorted to the usual wide haymakers. I mean god..the guy cannot throw a str8 punch and that is fundamental boxing. The contender dude destroyed gatti with str8 shots down the pipe.. I feel sad for gatti. its like he cant box for shit either I mean his face is a punch magnet ..nobody can miss...margarito got punished to the body. PAUL KEPT HIS WORD..lol...Backed up everything he said.

That str8 left to the body was killing margarito..I was screaming for more body shots he could of took him out. And Williams would of landed at will and kept margarito off of him b/c when he jabbed or thrown that str8 left he backed marg up.

I do think it's funny that Margarito's best chance was supposed to be on the inside, but when they did trade on the inside, he often got the worst of it from a guy who physically has no business being in that close.

You need to get a life....hahahahahaha.

You don't get it.....he doesn't see the fight the way you and I see it.

He is in the fight....and the fight in his eyes was back and forth and he thought he was doing more damage.

I thought he clearly lost but I understand what is going on in his mind but unfortunately for him he can't see the fight from outside view.

you people and this sore loser nonsense.

If thats the case DLH is the biggest sore loser of them all. If you watch Fox special on him he has an excuse for every loss in his career. But Margo is no more a sore loser than DLH or any other fighter that can't see the fight from the outside.

Especially in competitve fights where no one is truly dominated

Shut up..margarito talked shit after the fight. His corner knew he got beat..he knew he got beat...they were telling him every round to go for it...what does that tell you..he is ignorant and unsportsmen. ODH concedes defeat but makes excuses afterwards this guy says he got robbed and he got beat clearly by 8rnds-4

well to me he needed a knockdown to get a draw. I knew he couldnt knock paul out late b/c margarito was gased out and round 11 his punches had nothing on him. Williams stamina is a freak of nature...

the thing to look at is this. Williams made margarito miss like crazy..Williams has no defense. Floyd has the best defense in boxing and best movement. Williams made margarito miss wildly by just being in and out and stepping to the side..Do you get where I am going with this.

Are you saying Williams looked a little like Floyd in there at times? My girlfriend said the same thing. I don't think he's that slick. But definitely pretty damn slick and well on his way to mastery of the art of slipping. :smoke

WIlliams fought a smart fight a perfect fight to fight margarito. I mean if you keep moving and sliding there is nothing he can do. Margarito is very limited. Mayweather would of made him look bad in the ring. Mayweather wouldnt land that many punches but margarito would land none..lol Williams as tall as he is he was getting under margaritos punches he was more agile I mean he is just the better fighter.

Margo is still top 5-6 in the division, and will be back in the title mix shortly...not quite to gatekeeper level just yet.

I always thought he was a bit overrated for my part, Cintron probably takes him in a rematch now that he's copped a solid beating.

I was impressed and a little taken aback to hear Williams call out Floyd and Cotto. How do you see either of those going? Obviously he's nowhere near ready to go into such a fight as anything close to a favorite, but do you see him giving FMJ problems? When's the last time Floyd fought someone with those kind of physical advantages AND slickness to boot? And how does Cotto get inside when he's at even more of a height and reach disadvantage than Margarito? I mean yeah he can barrel ahead like he's hardwired to do, but he's going to engorge leather in the process.

I agree. But there is that something in the back of my mind, I would like to see Shane in some action soon with one of the five, but if he doesn't win it will be: Shane's shot, he's 36 years old, blah, blah, blah.
I mean on May 4th Oscar was still in great shape, and on May 6th he was old and past his prime. In short i fear no one will get due credit for a win over Sugar Shane.:-((

he actually might fight Cotto for his WBA..and if Cintron wants to avenge his emabarassing ktfo by Margo, they could rematch for Cintron's belt...soooooo um your wrong.

If Floyd doesnt fight his mando his will be stripped, that will make his belt open and up for grabs..

man you're dumb

Why would Cotto stoop down to his level? How could that possibly interest him right now, with talk of big money fights with Floyd, Shane, DLH, Hatton, etc.?? :rofl

AM lost to a undefeated ranked prime fighter, Judah lost to BALDO..man get real..

That doesn't make Margarito a more dangerous puncher than Judah, and it doesn't make him a bigger name. These are the unfortunate facts for your girl Antoinette.

This was a good fight, and I was rooting for BOTH guys, at times! I DID have AM winning by a pt (6-5-1), but wasn't upset w/the decision, and by no means was it robbery. I thought PW could've done better, and give AM props for hanging in there, and never giving up. PW's faster-paced start carried him. I don't think losing a very close decision to a guy like PW disqualifies AM from a big fight, and hope he still gets a crack at one of the other top 147 lbrs.

PW has earned a big payday, for winning this fight, and I hope one of the other top dogs steps up and takes his challenge.

Williams has overnight made a draw of himself and legitimized the WBO belt, something its previous holder couldn't do in nine fights.

And how did Williams legitimize the WBO belt if he won it from someone who you think wasn't a legit champ?

Ok, conjectural on my part I admit. But there's been buzz around him for awhile now, and that was his biggest exposure to date. When you go from thirty-plus fight undefeated hot prospect to titlist by beating a rugged but completely outskilled paper champion in thoroughly dominant fashion, it's safe to assume lucrative marquee status isn't far off.

If it was that easy, Shane Mosley would have been HUGE after beating DLH the first time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to diss Williams, but he's on his way, not there yet. :deal
