Is it possible to break a 4x4 with a kick? I said it was and everyone else disagrees, any video would be a help but an explaination is just fine thanks.

If it is possible, those Kyokushin karate guys would have done it by now. They'll kick anything. Will post a link if I run across one.

Nah, Kyokushin And Tae kwon do guys have good kicks but the best chance to break that would be a Muay Thai guy:good

True, the old trainers used to have to be able to break a tree in two before they could train someone else. Sorry no video. The guy that trained Tony Jaa talks about it.

I would think a 4x4 might just be outside the realm of possibility. "Breakers" condition their bones to become denser and harder, but I still don't think a shin bone would stand up to a piece of wood that size. The only way it might be possible is if the board was firmly positioned (ie, not held by people that are going to move) and the "breaker" went with a front kick. The heel could absorb the impact, and you'd have the full weight of the person behind it. Still, it's asking a lot.

If you ever seen the banana type tree's the muay thai guys kick, the wood is very porous and soft. A hard piece of 4x4 is going to be pretty fucking extreme, I would be surprised as hell to see it. I'm positive the bone could handle it, I just don't think you could generate the force. Go grab a 12 pound sledge and try it.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking it was a harder wood.

I watched a show with Ian Wright a while back. It was essentially a Record Breakers format. Some German kick boxer broke the world record for breaking CLEAN in half at least 20 baseball bats. His leg was mess afer that and must have been killing him!!

I am sure it is. If the board is long enough and braced properly. What kind of wood? I am sure alot of people can break a 4 x 4 of pine. I have broken 2x4 of pine with front kick, side kick and spinning rear kick (that was the hardest )
