Wow nice, and lets say it takes place in San Juan. I 'll have to go for Tito late KO. after picking himself off the floor.

Tito would struggle to make super middleweight, let alone welter, yes i ment prime...

I think that Tito would win probably by KO late, If you think Cotto is scary at 147 then Tito was the Grim Reaper!!!

The question was for prime Tito. which by the way I would pick to beat Cotto.

ITs a toss up. Both have been labeled as chinny.

Would this be a case of who lands the heavy shots first.

Labels are not always accurate. Tito had some KD's due to bad balance wheras Cotto was actually seriously hurt twice.

I don't think either guy is chinny to tell you the truth but Tito had the kind of power that would mess you up even if you were not chinny. I think he would just be too much for Cotto and wear him down.

I think Tito will beat him in a late KO if he get's to corner him somewhere a few times, but I honestly think that Cotto has more tools (better technique) like better jab, faster, better foot work and the fact that Cotto can stand in as an orthodox or southpaw at times.

Really? tito had an awesome jab. Very stiff very hard. I think it was better than Cotto's. His jab would stand his opponent straight up and line him up for that left hook. I'll agree with you on footwork but I'd say that are about even in speed and tito had the better jab.

I dont think that Tito has ever been as seriously hurt as Cotto, most of his KD's were flash KD's. And he was just exausted versus Hopkins.

I gotta see Cotto in with Cintron and Margo first before I make a decision on this one.

I think he was very hurt against Vargas.

I don't know about you guys but I pray for Tito to retire for good unless he can go down to 154 and beat Forrest... Which he would not do anyway...

At this point you are all comparing apples and oranges! Both Tito and Dela Hoya in their primes at 147 were head and shoulders above Cotto at this point. Perhaps Cotto continues to improve in the next couple of years and closes that gap...I don't see that happening...but to answer the threads question....Tito in the mid rounds by KO or TKO...most likely the latter of the two! Cotto wears people down with his power...Tito was capable of one shot KO power...any time during the fight...that is dangerous....same thing with Dela Hoya...a straight right/left hook combo and the opponent was on the canvas....my two cents worth.

That should really sum it up........I LOVE Cotto as a fighter, but he is really a plodder and would get fucked up REAL BAD against Tito or Oscar prime for prime......

I honestly fear for him if he fights Floyd.......Cotto is a warrior but really robotic.

I'll go with Tito, but I still believe that Cotto still isn't in his prime (which is unbelieveable). Cotto has a lot to prove, thank God that by doing that he brings excitement to boxing. Just a thought.

Experience, boxing skills, power, speed, and overall relentlessness goes to Tito.

There's no way that Cotto last past 5 rounds against Tito who would be the strongest and most fearce fighter that Cotto has ever faced.

Tito can punch with power in both hands and his skills and physical assets were at their peak at 147.

When he was Cotto's age he'd already won a middleweight title ... he had already been a WW champion for 6 years and unified titles at 154 and 147.

Simple,

Tito TKO6, watch the Ricardo Torres fight, which in my opinion his style is very very similar to Tito and now imagine that with 2wice the skill and 2wice the power, better reach and height, call it what you want but thats my analysis

Tito and DLH rarely stopped guys with one punch at 147. Tito took a couple guys out with left hooks to the body, and it was two left hooks from Tito to the head that took out Zulu (after punishing Zulu for the previous minute or so).

Trinidad KO.

A bad, bad matchup for Cotto. He could do alright boxing for a little bit, but with Trinidad's size and precise punches, he'd find the mark with a left hook or a right hand flush. And we all know Trinidad was one of the best finishers around.
