He is 8-5 over the past nine years and only 3-3 over past five years (including the Felix Sturm "win"). How does he keep coming up with the big fights and how do fans keep buying into it? Even Evander Holyfield has a better record than DLH since 2003.

You know how fighters put "rounds in the bank" in the course of fights? He's put "years in the bank" in the course of his career and made a celebrity of himself. He could lose five in a row and headline a PPV (with halfway decent numbers), I'd wager.
He can sell a sumo match to aborginals

5 loses in a row would be too much even for Tyson at the height of his popularity!
For whatever it's worth DLH losses have only come at the hands of future HallofFamers and his last fight was vs. the top fighter in the sport!

But of course you will give PBF plenty of credit for beating him:hey
It's all about $$$$
His stardom reaches outside die-hard boxing fans to casual fans and people who know nothing about boxing and rarely or never watch it.
You ask most people to name some current boxers (besides DLH) and they'll say "um, Mike Tyson, and the guy who got his ear bitten off by Tyson."
Most people know who DLH is and they believe that since he gets media attention and is good-looking, has charisma, he must be good, but he actually sucks.

It's what he did for Boxing, he brought exitement to boxing when it was suffering. He fought the best, and even when he lost he was still the fighter everybody wanted to fight to get that payday. Now he's a succesfull promoter, and still fighting. He's one hell of a buissnes man. he owns Magazine publications, charter schools in the LA area, is a big celebrity in countries as far as Belarus and the united arab emerites.
Anybody fights Oscar becomes an instant Millionair, win or lose.

He keeps coming up with fights by fighting big name fighters. I hate Oscars fan base as much as the next guy, but I must admit he has fought very good competition and has a fan-friendly fighting style.

Mayweather is the one who sold the fight on HBO's 24-7.......
....that fight did a million more buys than any other DLH fight, which includes the Trinidad fight.
....thats not DLH selling it, its Mayweather selling it.
DLH comes out and says that he's giving back to the boxing fan by showing his fight against Steve Forbes on free HBO....:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl      thats insanely hillarious.....are you kidding me?
If that Forbes fight went on PPV, DLH would undoubtedly be embarrassed by the numbers!
......DLH is giving jack shit to the boxing fan as he's been spinning it with the media....that Forbes fight has nowhere else to go but free HBO.
If DLH did'nt have such a relationship with HBO, were talking an ESPN fight against Forbes!

This is because of Oscarsexuals like Widdow, who would pay money to watch DLH take a shower.
And as even HBO pointed out during one of the countdowns (Mayorga, I think?), Oscar draws a large female demographic as well.

The answer is easy as to how he became such a huge phenomenon. He came onto the scene at the same time the mexican american population became a huge force on the US economic scene. There were mexican stars before but not mexican american ones. They clung to their guy ever since. Oh yeah, being a six division champ doesn't hurt either.

Jack Prescott, you are a fuckwitt. Did Oscar rape your pathetic arse ? Is that why you now wear dresses ?
Apart from the Sturm fight, what does he have going against him in your eyes ?
His resume is amongst the best.
He hasn't ducked anyone, even went up a few divisions to fight a legend.
Fought many greats won or held his own well.
Fought the current best, and did better than most thought he would.
Will rematch Floyd late this year.
What the fuck does he have to do to please a fuckwitt like you ?

Wow. There is very little support for DLH on this thread. Most agree with the topic question.

Most of his losses were very close fights and split decision losses. Its not like he got KTFO 5 times in a row. He was also never beaten by a major underdog. All of those fights he lost were atleast 50-50 fights.
People like him, they like his image. Hes a good bullshitter. He got busted with that prostitute and he completely downplayed the whole thing and got many people to think it was fake.

Remember his following started when he came back from Barcelona with a gold medal, the only to do this for the USA boxing team. So the hype started from there.

I didn't agree, just pointed out an economic fact. I find most ESB'ers attitude toward a winner of ten titles in six divisions childish at best.

C'mon Jack, seriously, answer my points. Not dumb shit like "wheres your avatar".
You keep slagging the guy off yet won't answer serious questions.

See Jack, your a fucking dumb arse. For some reason a minority on here somehow respect your word, ppffff, piece of shit.
And the dog avatar has been circulating on the net for a decade.
I thought to myself, maybe i'm over the top continually calling you a fuckwitt, nope, i was right, you are a fuckwitt.
How about occasionally answering posts seriously instead of being the ongoing child when it comes to De La Hoya.
