He will be missed. Ten years from now there will be fans saying, "oh, if only today's fighters had more of Gatti's warrior spirit."

Gatti wasn't a great fighter, but he was a damn good one. Better than some give him credit for. And he always earned his purse, unlike some of these guys who seem to show up just to collect a paycheck.

a true all time great. I dont wanna see him walk away yet, I still think hes got 2 or 3 good fights in him. Maybe as a farewell fight they can do Gatti-Cintron.

Are you trying to get Gatti killed? Even he knows he is done

I would favor Cintron too, but Gatti may have one or two more great fights left in him.

just saying it would be a good farewell fight. I may even pick the upset and win a good amount of money, depending on the odds.

Memories........sure he will be able to remember his fighting days several years down the road.

but will he be able to remember what he did two minutes ago???

whoever told him to take this fight should be locked up.

As soon as the first round was over I felt like such an idiot for picking him to beat Gomez, after watching hes last fight against Baldomir, Gomez like Baldy is a come foward rugged tough challenger and won every round in there. The KO was brutal I was praying Gatti would survive that onslaught because he would have been gassed badly and maybe the next round would he would have seen some success but it wasnt to be.

Hes my favourite blood and guts warrior and like its been said before, skill wise hes never going to be up there with the likes of PBF or DLH but he will be remembered thats for damn sure, when I think of boxing ill think of hes style and KO or get KO'd attitude a few years ago he would have beaten Baldomir and Gomez but hes gone out the same way as any other past champs.

Say what you want about level of skill. The ninth round of Gatti - Ward I was the kind of moment that spawned myths and legends in times gone by.

Enjoy retirement champ. It was a pleasure watching you work. Painful, but a pleasure all the same.

A true warrior indeed. The first Ward-Gatti fight was the reason I got into boxing. Arturo you will be missed.

Yeah, much respect to Gatti. He should have quit a few fights ago IMO. He's going to slur badly when he ages a bit.

Good thing that he finally retires.

He should have done so a few fights ago.

A true warrior moves on to bigger and better things.

Perfectly stated.
