I'm starting this thread early, despite not being that excited about this card. Outside the main event, none of the other fights have much significance. For example, the winner of Franklin/Lutter is going where, exactly? Neither deserve another title shot.

To be honest i think the build up for this event has been quite weak. I haven't really paid that much attention to it and have little interest in it other than the main event. Right now im watching the Hopkins Calzaghe under card and to be frank thats not saying squat either.

Yeah, the buildup for the fight has been weak, and I'm not all that excited for it. Maybe it's because I've seen the two fight before. I'm looking forward to Penn/Sherk a ton more. The main events after that are all downhill again. Rampage vs. Griffin? Even an entire season of TUF isn't going to help promote that suckfest.

To be fair my interest in the UFC has waned. Now that there the premier org the quality DEEP cards are few and far between. It doesn't really leave that much to look forward too or be excited about.

No worries, man. He didn't fight like shit because he was Canadian. He fought like shit because he was a scared little kid in there. I've never seen a fighter do absolutely nothing for 15 minutes. No takedowns. No kicks. No punches. That 30-24 was hilarious.

It would sure make things interesting, but Lutter is kind of a dick, so I hope he gets knocked out. Then Franklin can avoid fighting Silva, and the 185 division will go no where. Damn you for cleaning house, Anderson!

I don't see a Franklin-Silva III fight hapenning; there really wouldn't be a point. If they fought 100 times, seriously, Silva would win each time.

As for Lutter, I could see a rematch there. The first fight was resonably competitive. Silva still wins, but Lutter hasn't already lost twice. It would sell.

Lutter needs better conditioning coaches. He can't make weight for his last fight, and he was ridiculously gassed in this fight. That was a better battle than I thought it would be.

Yeah, Serra is just one of those guys that will give GSP trouble everytime. Even if GSP wins, I don't think it's going to be as easy as some people think. The man once knocked out by the "Shonnie Carter Special," can be a royal pain in the ass to fight.

Coming out of last night I have some thoughts. Kalib Starnes should be gone without 2nd fought theres too many good fighters who want to fight in the UFC. Mac Danzig looked solid but his opponet Docek seemed to make alot of mistakes and you can expect that considering there experience difference. Bisping looks sharp at 185 and reminded me why I once compared him to Wanderlei Silva but Charles McCarthy ? Whys this guy like he is hes so miserable and always seems to get "hurt" Im glad Franklin proved people wrong everyone acts like he has no groundgame well why the fuck does this guy get out of submissions vs Lutter or Shamrock ? I love Franklin and it amazes me what he does to everyone then what Silva does to him. Hes in a very akward postion right now hes the 2nd best Middleweight in the UFC but he doesnt deserve a title shot. GSPs win was impressive but im rather disapointed he didnt go for the ultimate revenge and try to KO Serra like Serra KOed him. Also im not super impressed because Serra looks like a Featherweight and GSP looks like a Middleweight in there. Id like to see Serra drop to 155 agian.

You're right about Franklin. He's certainly number two at middleweight in the UFC, but he's not going to be champ again as long as Silva holds the belt. It's nice to see such dominance, but it really puts the UFC in a pickle. The addition of Bisping at 185 is the only thing that makes the division interesting. Bisping vs. Franklin or Silva would be a decent fight, though I think Silva would tear his head off and punt it into the fourth row. But at least the British boy is new blood. Silva has KOed pretty much everyone else.

Thats why im like just let Silva go 205 and have some new challenges even if he never loses agian atleast at 205 it will take him a long time to clean house cause theres so many guys Griffin,Rampage,Machida,Liddell,Shogun,Wanderlei ETC. If Silva goes I just think Franklin does what Silva was doing the last 2 years and what Franklin did before that and its just dominate all his legimate challengers including Bisping.

I don't recall the last time I saw such lop-sided victories in a single UFC event. Franklin, Quarry, St. Pierre and Bisping were all completely dominant. I was especially happy to see Franklin's ground game once again. It's been criticized before, but I think he deserves much more respect than he gets on the ground. St. Pierre's ability to throw Serra on his back at any time was amazing and Bisping looked impressive as a middleweight. Overall, it was a good event.

I wouldn't say Franlkin was dominate he was mounted twice and was very close to getting armbarred, Ludder gased by the second round and Franklin took over. Lutter seems to find a way to lose.

True, Franklin was mounted twice, however, besides the armbar attempt, he was in no real danger and showed he's got great defensive abilities from his back.

Seeing Franklin on his back was great. He doesn't have stellar jits, and won't be winning many fights from the ground. But he defended himself well and didn't look like a fish out of water.

Maybe not stellar, but there are many many fighters that would have gotten tapped with that armbar. It was definitely a very nice escape.

Franklin showed why he is a true Champion even though he doesnt have a belt right now but everyone knows he would if Andersons parents never met. Franklins been in some rocky situations vs a few tough guys like Lousieau,Tanner now Lutter and always comes back and dominates his opponet. Rich is a great man and a great fighter I cant wait till hes Champion agian.

Ah, Franklin was very close to losing with the armbar and with those two mounts. Bisping was in a HORRIBLE position with that armbar and could very easily have blown it. Also, a lot of those punches and knees that Goldberg and Florian were going nuts about were being blocked. Mcarthy didn't look like he got beaten up that bad except for the messed up forearm.
