How do you view Williams in comparison to Mosley, Mayweather, and Cotto?

He has a decent shot at beating all three of those shorties. I think Mosley might be the easiest because of wear and tear.

I honestly don't see him beating any of those guys.

Given that he has a chin, he is going to be a right bitch for anyone.

A 6 ft 1 inch left handed octopus will be nightmare for any and all normal size welterweights that get in the ring with him.
The only hope we have as fans is some crushing punch smashes off his jaw and k.o's him.....otherwise you are looking at your Welterweight Champ for some years to come.....he will really be a PPV draw :-)

he is very tough for all three simply based on work rate...avg. 116 punches a round.....:scaredas:

I don't mind watching anyone who throws 110 punches a round and is willing to fight anyone.

Did Margarito really test Williams body? Iv got the fight on Sky+ but havent had time to watch it yet. Williams looks right skinny around the mid-section so i think Cotto could punish that and have Williams hurting by the later rounds, but i find the amazing height, and probably weight, disadvantage Mosley, Cotto and Mayweather have hard to overlook.

I think all 3 would have a tough time with him but I'm not saying he could beat all 3 of them necessarily. I definately want to see all the top welterweights fight each other.

He would give problems to the three of them, maybe even win. But he hasn't accomplished what they have done (especially what SSM and PBF have done) and doesn't deserve to be considered at the same level.

if any of them is going to beat him, they have to do it soon...Williams can only get better at 25 years of age.

He is too big to be able to make 147 for much longer, maybe two more fights, as far as his height and work rate Hearns had the same thing and hit alot harder and he still got knocked the fuck out, so the same thing could happen to Williams, I think he could beat Mosley because Mosley has shown that a good jab can throw off his speed and timing and intimidate him (Forrest), he would have a great chance against Cotto, but I don't see him beating PBF.
He said he has no problem making 147.

How he makes 147 I dont know?!!!
I would bet on Cotto and Mayweather to decision him.
I think he would out work Mosely and get a decision.

No way he beats Floyd. Cotto likely breaks him down to the body, and I'd say he and Mosley would be a war. It's not like a Forrest matchup for Mosley because Williams is a brawler and inside fighter more than anything, which is why Floyd smacks him up to a wide UD.
True, but after seeing the kinds of fits length and a jab give Shane, its hard to think that Williams wouldn't work to create distance. Shane could get in deep doo doo quick with those no look lead power shots he loves so much. Williams looks gawky, but I'm not sure he has any less handspeed now than the 2003 (4?) version of Viper. Shane's gotten slower and older.
Cotto would test that body severely, and you know PBF would come up with some kind of plan, but Williams has so much reach over both of them. Its hard to envision fight scenarios with that kind of a physical freak.

Better yet, how does he make 147 comfortably and then step in the ring at 162! That's impressive.

Still too early to tell. I wouldn't use Margarito as a benchmark. Still, I really did like what I saw as most of us did. Paul Williams is an anomoly and an enigma wrapped up in a puzzle topped with a riddle. Incredibly difficult matchup for anybody at welter. If his height wasn't enough, he's a southpaw with quickness and an incredible workrate. You still have to rank him outside the top 3, but I'd love to see how they match up against him.
