Well, I with the many boxing fans who tought margo had absoluty no chance against floyd had a smile this morning when I joined the site to check the news, OK while paul is not a bum, hes no where near the elite level and neither was margarito and NEVER was, the guy was a good fighter a B- at best, the margo bang-wagon were pretty convinced that this guy had what it takes to beat floyd, sorry fellas u were wrong big time, to beat floyd u dont only have the style to beat him, u got to have the world class skills that goes with it or else u stand NO chance.

Nobody does. Because Margo is slow as fuck and throws shitty, wide punches.

Who thought he did...ever? ; p

Margo has always been Margo. He's a high risk, low reward fight. There's always the chance he can catch you with a big punch, but that's about it. He doesn't have the talent of the upper echelon fighters. What made him a tough matchup was that he was big and hardy.

I still think he gives him hell.

Margarito simply lost to a bigger younger version of himself last night. That in no way shape or form would resemble a Mayweather fight. Eat your heart out. :smoke

I thought this question has already been answered after the Dela/PBF fight

I'm glad some of you are so thrilled by a bout that never happened. The legend continues, one hypothetical fight at a time.

Williams and Floyd are nothing alike. I still think Margo can beat PBF.

I think everyone knows where I stand on this.:yep Margo doesn't even have a puncher's chance against PBF. He's too slow, too wide, plods and has poor defense. That's a recipe for getting your ass kicked by PBF. Anyone with a decent chin, good handspeed and movement could beat Margo.

Margo barely lost to Williams last night, and he basically waited too long on Williams when he should have pressed earlier. Floyd doesn't have 1. Williams workrate 2. Williams size 3. Williams willingness to fight fire with fire. He probably doesn't even have Williams power.

If Floyd does what he did against DLH against Williams or Margo, which is give away the early rounds, he will dig himself too big of a hole to get out of, since Margo and Williams will pressure him from the opening bell.

Styles make fights, just because Margo lost to Williams doesn't mean he can't beat some of the other top welterweights out there.

First Fraudarito didn't barely lose, he won four rounds at best it was a clear UD win for Williams.
PBF would counter and box circles around Margo probably winning every round of the fight. Margo isn't in PBF's class.:deal
While I like Williams you can't put too much into a his win over an overrated fighter like Margo. Saying he is ready for PBF is foolish.

Yeah I'm sure Floyd would box circles around him since he did that to DLH, a guy who throws half the shots that Margo/Williams would. Floyd would have to grow some balls and fight if he were to beat either Margo or Williams, he wouldn't have a DLH type in there trying to outbox him and play into all his strengths.

And yes Margo barely lost. I thought it could have been scored a draw, and if Margo won the last round, he could have easily won the fight. But he didn't and props to Williams.

DLH is a far harder puncher than Williams / Margarito and is much more accurate.

So what? He couldn't land his money punch on Floyd and faded badly towards the end of the fight. If he had Williams or Margo's workrate, he would have beaten Floyd. Floyd has good defense, but that won't win you a fight if you don't land enough punches of your own. A fighter like Williams and Margarito are a nightmare for Floyd and why he'll probably never face either one (although now Margarito's rep is diminished after 1 fight that was close, which is very stupid).

Williams threw 1,256 punches and only connected at a 23% rate while Margarito threw 652 punches and only connected at a 28% rate.

Workrate means jack shit if you can't put the punches on the actual target.

It does matter to the judges when it looks like one guy is getting outworked even if the other guy is landing the better shots. Hagler-Leonard is a good example. Hell even DLH-PBF is a good example.

I've always felt that Williams presented a style nightmare for Floyd, while Margarito would lose to Floyd but Floyd would have to stink out the joint to do so.

Yesterday just re-enforced what I had thought earlier.
