Watching Harrison and Williams 1 and Sprott/Sklelton last night made me nostalgic for the Frank Bruno years. I know his much older these days but surely one warm up fight would be enough to get him ready for a one off fight with Skelton or maybe a fight for the British title? Thoughts:hey

I think Bruno considered a comeback 4 or 5 years ago now and after some sparring he decided against it, as he realised he no longer had it.

I seriously doubt that we will ever see him again in the ring.
I do know he would dominate the current crop of heavys if was still near enough his prime.

Frank Bruno had a detached retina and shouldn't of even been allowed to fight tyson the 2nd time (it's in his auto biography).

No his eye is messed up. He was lucky to pass his medical for the second Tyson fight. Also there was talk of a comeback a few years ago and ****** etc got it involved in getting him training but we know now that was through compassion hoping that if he got the gym he'd lay of the coke and get his head straight, unfortunately it didn't happen and he got sectioned.

Prime Bruno would own all the bums that are champions in the HW division today and that's a fact. He ain't prime any more though the guys what 45+ years of age? Be serious people!!!

The commentator on ITV last night said it best, he said that Bruno would most likely be a long reigning undisputed champ if he were in his prime today, and I happen to agree, fuck what all the WALDO lovers say :hat

You love to make fun of people, but I don't think you quite realize how ridiculous your comment is.....Bruno, in his prime, was a good heavyweight. But a long reigning champ?

That's not what John Rawling said. He said if Bruno had been in his prime in this era, he'd get a title a hold it for a a time. No one said undisputed, no one mentioned Wlad.

Frank Bruno was big black, and listened to Reggae Music, i red his book he was one of the tough men of boxing. He had to go to Columbia, before he turned professional for a career saving operation on his eye, and he was hanging out with Columbian drug lords. This combination, is what made him a good fighter. A jab from a big strong 240+ pound black man, will course allot of heavyweights trouble.

After watching the non fight that was sprott and skelton on sat night, and hearing the crowd cheering for the guy, i do wonder if he sometimes thinks about it,but to be honest, apart from dosh, whats the point?,he would win against all the uk guys, but would struggle in europe and world level now.

Yes he can. But whether he can still be aserious contender at HW, that is another issue.

Thanks for those responses, I'am not talking about European or a world title fights, he already won at those levels and would obvioulsy struggle there now. Just a prep fight for a domestic fight (he never won the British title becuase of lawless) but yeah its a long shot. I know about the eye before the 96 Tyson fight and i thought Frank ****** and George Francis was crazy not to urge Frank not to quit following the mcall fight and could ****** not fixed an easier first defence then Tyson? Its seems Bruno took that fight for money and money only.

Frank was a big kid, largerthan others his age, he was repremanded for striking a teacher in school, and was taken to get rid of his agression in the gym..

He won the ABA's beating a strong welsh lad named Rudi Pica and before turning pro he failed a routine eye exam.. Duff and Lawless thought that much of him as a heavyweight comodity they took him to Bogata to get the eye properly repaired.

It became torn again in his reign as champ...

He would be very foolish to fight again..

He would definitely pick up a belt today if he was boxing..

His chin is better than Rahman and Wladimirs..

He was only knocked out properly once, by Smith...

He was too brave and often never learned to go down or hold..

Better than most suggest..
