a slightly dirty tactic is to beat the shit out of his jabbing shoulder

catch his jab and throw one back IMMEDIATELY...that will make him a little less confident in his jab if u keep catchin his and poppin him with your own

Depends.. need more info. Does he just fire off one at a time? Or does he double-triple etc.? What makes it hard for you.. is it fast? Is it a powerful shot? And, is he taller and does he outreach you? Let me know and ill come back to you with some feedback.
But generally, us jabbers hate fighters who get in under our jab. We feel exposed if we throw a jab and you can come in and under. The easier way however, is to counter-punch. When he jabs, move out and come back with a cross as an example.

I'd rather fight clean and hit him on the nose instead.

Take the jabs to the head like Mr.T in Rocky 3..

It's like the people who fight Floyd
"Wear him down by punching his shoulder". In the meanwhile, he'll be wearing down your head. Not to mention the fact that he deliberately blocks with his shoulder :hey

The way you deal with a jab depends on your style. How do people deal with Klitschko fearsome jab? Of course these modern heavyweight bums just stand there an get hit. Now if a real opponent like George Foreman faced Klitschko he would merely jab back at him. In a jabbing contest the man with the longest arms tends to have the advantage, Foreman wins that one. A man with short arms like Rocky Marciano would have to do something different. Watch some of his videos and very often you will see him throwing the overhand right.
There are no right or wrong answers as to how you apply the fundamentals of boxing to your particular style. However, if you aren't applying the fundamentals, you are wrong because sooner or later somebody will punish you for it.

Back him up using double and triple jabs.
Get inside then open up with fast combos.
try and get inside and body punch and that will stop him jabbin, you have 2 fight a boxer

I'm with Melbourneborn -- jab can expose front side of body...especially if your opponent telegraphs or gets lazy and doesn't pull back into defense you can work the body under their arm. won't work long though -- catch, parry or bob better long term tactic ?

any of you dumbasses ever heard of slippin it that means go into the punch so when it hits its smothered and then counter

Slipping means not letting it hit at all, genius.
