Hi, long time lurker first time poster here..
With all this talk of glass jaws and china chins, could anyone confirm if Khan took a shot on the chin when he went down? i only saw it once at the time but it didnt look like it.
If anyone leaves themselves so exposed, then walking on to a sucker punch of a shot to the temple will have the same effect on most fighters.
Hopefully Khan has now wised up that he cant just walk through punches head first.

He took a few shots. It was a joke, he got caught and couldn't cover up. He was so open it made me cringe. He really needs to get a trainer who can help him with his defence.

Yep, but be honest they were temple shots and a couple barely landed. IMO he was put down easily by average shots from a below average puncher. I know there are those who'll disagree and that's cool. I like Amir I've had the pleasure of meeting him briefly and he's a nice guy, but he needs to work on his defence as a matter of urgency.

We were going to upload the full fight earlier toninght to let everbody see it, as it was great fight.
However, the awful things the Khan fans are saying about Limond in Youtube put us right off, & we decided not to bother.
Stuff like calling Limond a 'crackhead' etc... Do Khan fans know anything about boxing? limond is a proud family man & a self employed joiner who works long hours 6 days a week besides being a full time fighter to support his family, Limond is a credit to the sport of boxing. I dont mind Khan the fighter, but his fans are a pretty horrible bunch going by their fanatical screaming on Youtube.
Fuckers are all in screaming personal insults bout Willie, & deluding themselves that Khan was pushed & wasnt really knocked down:-(
I would be lying if I said Khans mad nuthuggers havent got to me, cos they have.

The bottom line is a lot of Khan fans aren't boxing fans. They only follow Amir and not the sport and they buy into the hype and more without fully understanding sport. It's a shame because Khan deserves decent fans as does Willie, they both earned their money last night and the fight was damn good.

aaargh! Its Sugar Ray Clay Jones jnr!!! That was a weird entrance wasnt it, him coming in with the scream mask to that prayer, Not saying it was bad or anything, just saying It was a bit strange! Not used to that as a boxing fan am I!
Im not really into mixing religion with boxing too much, as I have seen too much blood on the streets due to religion cos of the Rangers & Celtic football & religious rivalry throughout the years, without religion manifesting itself in boxing also.
I prefer it when the boxers just come out to 50 cent tunes or similar crap like that to be honest!

Good post Nulty, & I see what you are saying. Im not going to hate Khan cos of his fans, cos to me Amir is a good person & is the real deal. That was a great win for him last night, cos most dont understand just how underrated Willie Limond is, I have followed him for years & hes a good fighter, as he proved. But Khan beat him in his 13th fight at the young age of 20, & I said before if Khan could stop Limond that would prove him to be the real deal in my eyes, & I stand by that.
But I just wish his fans werent such assholes, & tried to learn about the sport of boxing a bit. Im no angel myself, but if I dont like a fighter I can back it up with reasons either rightly or wrongly, but its sickening to read bozos talk about it like it was a common streetfight between two guys who hated each other, cos that couldnt be further from the truth.

Been removed by sports network already
I was pretty pissed during the fight but i remember it being a couple of good shots that eventually put him on his ass.

More and more fights are getting removed. These will often never see the light of day on dvd so whats the point? It's the same story with the margarito/williams fight.

Yeah, I could understand if they were hoping to make money from selling the DVD (like the UFC) but more often than not the fights are never seen again.

I have always rated Limond as well, and in my opinion he could beat Earl as well. I think Thaxton though is the guy on top of the british lw scene though.

Khan was in fact hit with several well places blows which included an uppercut to the chin.

Khan was hit with seven shots of varying degress. The first was a hard right that got to its destination quicker than Khans looping counter left hook was going to.

The fact that he went down well from a light hitting journeyman-level fighter(internationally) is telling of what he will be able to accomplish at the World Level. Imagine if Limond had Nate Campbell's power.:yep

This is true, however Khan is not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination. A bad chin is not necessarly the end.
Limond IS NOT a journeyman. You are simply taking a guess, you do not know. In Arthur and Khan he may have lost to two world champs. You do not know yet. You go too much on what you think and not what you know. This is why you need to let things evolve and grow before you start being so judgemental.
I agree Limond is generally a light hitter but he uncharacteristically look to make the fight, walk Khan down, come in with big shots etc Ultimately Khan was caught while punching and he didn't even see the right hand. Plus it was six punches later that he went down.
I thought maybe Khan is hiding some Morales chin but I always said he didn't look solid in the pros yet. I wasn't sure on his strength, power, ability to take a shot etc His strength is still in some question though his power keeps reaching new heights. His chin has foiled in his first big fight but let's wait and see.

Achilles - I am REALLY not trying to be a pest.
I feel that if Limond were thrown around internationally, then he'd have anywhere from 10-12 losses against medium opposition and would have lost to gate keeper's like Miguel Huerta.
Huerta is considered a gate keeper/journeyman, but the guy has well rounded skills, power, chin and stamina and stays around... the same goes for tough nosed guys like Hernandes(whom KOed Litzau), Hernandez has a better jab than most contending British domestic fighters.
The difference is that these guys are thrown around to the wolves internationally, I feel also that both guys would have easily KOed Khan early and BOTH are at best gate keepers. Limond is slightly less than them in terms of all around capability in my opinion, even though he's not a journeyman for the British domestic scene.
See? I just gave two limited type fighters, both of whom have wracked up losses a lot of credit as GOOD fighters who've been around the block.
Miguel Huerta would have KOed Khan with a straight left hand as early as round 2, he has 10 losses, is considered a "journeyman" on the WORLD CIRCUIT.
Rooq talked about the difference between the domestic scene and the international circuit and it was a very good thread. I feel that you're giving your domestic guys way too much damn credit.

Furthermore, I can tell you right now that Khan is nothing more than a massively overhyped, Jason Litzau type. HELL, Litzau even has better power and comparable speed, just totally LACKS mentality.
And here is to Amir's credit:
He's got heart, I don't deny this.

MAYBE so, at 135 I think Limond would be your typical 30-10 fighter but this is not embarrassing. I want you to think Jimmy Young, Emmanuel August or Ralph Tiger.
Let's drop and notch and think of your typical journeyman (though 30-10 still isn't journeyman), they always hurt fighters. Juan Diaz was put down by some random. He was put down twice in fact and was thought to have a weak chin - BOOM he takes Freitas shots.
Anyone who has seen Haye-Mock would think Hayes chin IS AWFUL. His world was ROCKED by a SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT! He improved his conditioning, paced himself better and got a defence then boom he has improved ten fold and is fighting for the title.
Don't ever say I give domestic guys too much credit. 95% of our fighters are shit. Ok, 90%, 5% turn into Hattons, Calzaghes etc and the others turn into European, WBO types in Cook, Arthur etc
Amsterdam

Haye doesn't have a glass chin in my opinion, I really think weight draining was his issue. HOWEVER, I don't think Haye has a solid chin either, I think it's just solid enough to hold up under circumstances where a glass chin would prevent success.
And you know I got nothing against Haye, the more a guy like him succeeds, the better for boxing.
At the very least, you have to admit that I can spot a bad chin with little to no evidence, considering that I have NEVER been incorrect in about 50 or so predictions over the years on hype jobs.

Re-watching the fight. It's actually interesting to see how many shots Khan got hit by. He took quite a few blows in each round, some were pretty flush. But I don't think he was as hurt as people say he was, when he went down, he seems to have pretty shit balance sometimes, It wasn't a hard KO, it was a series of shots that ultimately he was shoved more the canvas than punched, although, a punch could have put him down with his defense that day.
But Khan got up, took a knee (Advice from the corner!) and i don't think he was in danger of being stopped, it was unchartered water for Khan he'd never been in that situation before, and he took some even heftier shots after the KO, Limond was going for Khan for the KO all night, and was connecting alot. To Khans credit, he did take most of the shots quite, well.. and annilated Limond in the 7th and 8th.
Limond is a good boxer, and losing to Khan and Arthur, Limond can do stuff at Euro level. Like Dunky said Limond is extremely underrated and is no journeyman.

That is youtube for you. I love that site, but I swear to God I have never seen a greater collection of cunts and sad pathetic wankers than you get posting on the videos on youtube.
Any great song you see or live performance and there will be about half the comments saying it is utter shit and the same people will bother to then troll other videos of the same artist saying how they cant sing blah blah.
Any sports incident and there are pricks using racist insults or if it is a Brit then there are 5000 Americans calling it a faggot sport or how they would wipe the floor with Euros etc etc.
Check out other Khan vids and you see people calling him a "****" and so on...
I simply try to not read Youtube comments as it makes me want to bring in a secret police who track the writers down and shoot them.
