Margarito vs Cotto next?
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum plans to meet with Team Margarito to discuss future plans which may include a fight with WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. "I'm not going to abandon Antonio Margarito," said Arum after Margarito lost his WBO welterweight title in a close fight to Paul Williams on Saturday night in front of a soldout Southern California crowd. "I'm going to sit down next week with Sergio Diaz and Francisco Espinoza, his two managers, and discuss a possible Cotto fight."

Cotto should tell Arum and Fraudarito to go fuck themselves and go to the back of the line. I'd much rather see Cotto fight Mosley, PBF, Cintron or Williams.

A Cotto/Margarito fight would still be an interesting fight to see. They both have styles that I believe would mold together very well in a fight.

You know Arum Hyped this clown so he could feed him to Cotto and he still intends to do just that but when Cotto does KO/TKO his overated ass it won't be as impressive since margo has been exposed in front of the whole world.

^ I guess, but it won't be the best fighting the best. Margarito is NOT the best Welterweight....we know that much. I want to see a meaningful fight that gets us one step closer to finding out who the best welter is.

I think people wrap themselves up too much in that. I mean, if there's a potential entertaining/competitive fight to be made, then why not just make it? We have plenty of time to find out who the best WW is, there's no hurry. And while we're waiting, we might as well let ourselves be treated to some good fights along the way.

If anyone has the fight recorded, go back to when they were announcing the decision. When they announced Williams' name, Arum looked like he was about to strangle someone and started yelling at Margarito's manager/promoters. He swears Margarito won that fight! :yep

The thing I hate about boxing nowadays is that fighters won't fight other fighters with the excuse that they lost. Damn It. Everyone shoulfight evryone no matter if they lost. To be the best you need to beat every contender in the division. I wanna see cotto vs margarito...vs williams, vs.cintron, vs. collazo, vs. mayweather and vs. mosley. In summary : vs. everyone to leave any possible excuses out of the question.

I think Arum was just angry and upset that Margo lost. I am sure that in these couple of weeks he will calm down and realize that a Cotto/Margo fight doesnt make much sense now. I doubt very much that this fight will happen any time soon.

Ahhh. The "exposed" word rears it's head. Margo was never hyped as the most skilled or the hardest hitting welter. He was pitched as being a grinder who had the heart to take people into deep water that didn't want to go there against a lesser known titlist (people=Maythweather).

I don't think anything was shown except that Williams has the heart to gut it out just as hard and came out the winner. I don't think anyone who actually has seen Margarito fight would argue that he is the most skilled WW. I know that he will take anyone out there into a fight, and I give him props for insisting on the Williams fight before Cotto, even though it cost him his title.
