Is it just me, or has the AM Bandwagon been completely and entirely DERAILED?
Is anyone man enough to come on here and sing his praises? Anybody complaining about the decision? (besides AM himself) Does anyone still favor him over Mayweather? I'd be interested to hear from the Margarito supporters.

That's because there was only a handful of Margo fans here, and they posted a LOT and under different names.
The Margo shills are quite quiet these days!!

I am a margarito fan, and he will be back, he lost a close fight to a young bull who threw over 1200 punches in order to get the win...Nothing to be ashamed of at all!

Wrong as usual Joy fan.
I never left. And I am a supporter of Margarito.
He lost last night, deservedly. They should have matched Paul Williams punch for punch but they didn't. Instead it looked as though they reincarnated the exact gameplan used on Kermit Cintron.
I blame the inexperience of his corner and of himself. The mistakes were theirs and Paul Williams lived up to the moment.
But if you fools truely believe this is the end of Margarito you are making a mockery of your boxing knowledge. He will be back. His date may still be secure with Miguel Cotto and one win there puts him right back in the picture.
If I were Paul Williams I'd not want an immediate rematch. Surely they must also know a rematch would not be so easy. But we'll see what happens. Margarito is still very much a live welterweight, much to the dysmay of a few haters.

Still love Margarito. He's tough as nails and nearly pulled it out. It was a close fight and he was NEVER close to being hurt. He is one tough hombre and is hard as nails. He's still right in the welterweight mix in a terrific division. Yeah, maybe he complained a bit too much. It was not a robbery but I think it could have been a draw or even a close win for the TJ tornado.

Margo is a game but extremely limited fighter. He has heart and balls, but little else.

I noticed all the margo fans disappeared and a few noobs with 10 posts appeared in their place that are suddenly touting Williams.
;-)
Nah I'm a Margo fan . . . and I'm still here. :yep
That's not a shameful loss . . . it's close fight.
As to PBF . . . I already said long time ago that PBF is above MARG'S Level.

There were never that many fans of his to begin with.

Margo is a warrior.. if he won the 12th round he would still have his title now and everyone would STFU.
He will be back. :)

I think he has underrated boxing skills. He blocked a lot of Williams punches that a "limited" fighter would have been hit with.

Thanks for replying guys. To clarify, I'm not bashing AM. I just wanted to know if you guys were still on board. I've got a lot of respect for true fans that actually stick with a fighter through a loss. Most of you guys have been pretty humble, I'm glad that I don't see too many "Margo was robbed" posts.

I like Margarito. He takes the difficult fights - unlike PBF - the black mark on boxing.
Even though I was 50-50 beforehand, my instinct was that Margo would eventually catch up with Williams. However, Williams stayed on the outside very well for about 7 rounds, which was too much to catch up.
I saw the fight, and it was very close. If you look at the cut above Punisher's eye and Margo's face, you can't say that Williams won easily.
Margo's still got a great future, but Williams was too tall and too awkward. Maybe he needs to start his attack earlier.

That ain't saying much. Williams threw over 1000 punches any pro fighter should be able to block some no matter how limted he is.

I am a fan.
He was beaten, but it was a close fight, and if ever there will be a rematch, I would say Margarito will have a better chance than the last one since he knew a slow start against an active Williams will not favor him.
The last 6 rounds would give you an idea that Margarito's solid, harder shots are having its effect on Williams. It was just too late, and he digged a rather deep hole to ovecome.

I am and still will be. Real fans dont turn there back just because the fighter lost. He will be back, his only 29. I still say Margarito beats Cotto.

I'm a fan of Margarito. I think he could have very well won that fight against Williams if he actually worked a bit more instead of giving up so many early rounds. All he needed was to throw a few more straight right hands (something lefties are always gonna get hit with) and he'd have KOed Williams in the later rounds. Margarito needs to work on straightening out his punches and he'll be a hard guy to beat.
Just to add - Why are you guys bringing up FMJ?! This is a thread about Margarito. Ya'll just can't get enough of Floyd can ya? :-(

I'm a big fan, but I kept my mouth shut throughout the whole Mayweather feud. It was a stupid debate and just served to make people pissed off.
I think that he'd have a lot more fans if it weren't for the positioning by the media to push for a fight between him and Mayweather. Margarito is going to get outboxed. It's just a fact of life, but boxing doesn't have to be about winning every fight. I've never seen a boring Margarito fight and that's why I'm a fan of his. It annoys me to no end that people, out of frustration from their stupid, endless internet debates, want to see him go away.

I enjoy watching Marg fight. He's not on top of my favorite list, but that loss should not hurt him much at all. It may be different had he been blown out, but it was a good tough fight; the kind where both winner and loser should still be right in the picture.

ill fight his corner too;brave, determined, strong;applies educated pressure.hes achieved a lot without the natural talent of others.
willing to fight a highly demanding, monster of a mandatory simply because it was the honorable thing to do(imagine floyd fighting pw,never happen)
the fight with pw will look better and better when pw starts cutting a swath through the division, though floyd wont touch him with an uzi.lets be honest here, floyd would have struggled to go the distance with pw.
PW::bbb -FMJ::dead
shit ive turned this into a floyd bash.what a pity, never mind.

Margarito made me a fan of his the way he fought on Saturday night. Yes, Williams won, but Margo fought like a frigg'n warrior and I actually think Margo inflicted more damage. Too bad he couldn't win the 12th round. This fight was similar to the BHop/Taylor fights, as one guy kinda won the "boxing match" but the other won the "fight". Although I feel B-Hop actually won the 1st Taylor fight on the cards too.

WOW. I'm very impressed. Not by Margarito, but by his fans! Much respect to you guys for sticking with him and not bitching and complaining.
If this were Wlad Klitschko, every KlitFan on this board would be bitching about a bogus decision or calling out for a poison investigation. So far I really haven't heard any whining from the AM fans and everybody still seems to be on board. That's great to see. So while Margo didn't really win me over, I've got a new found respect for his fans. Way to Man Up!

i WAS THINKING THE SAME..
except PW was MORE in control early then JT was in the B-HOP fights, none the less very similar in how the loser came on strong in the end and alomst turned fight around..
Also, I really believe it was Margos as it was B-Hops strategy, to come on late. They just let the other build up too much of a lead. Also, Margo might have underestimated Willams's resilience, and chin....also stamina. Rematch might be different. Williams is tough and awkward, and will be extremely hard for any welter to beat.....which is why Margo shouldn't drop out of the top 6 in WW, I still have him at 5 I think, gotta look into it more. :good

Thats not true. He did not WANT to fight this fight. If you recall, he first said no and wanted to fight others for a big payday, but then when they said they would strip his belt and he couldnt land another big payaday he did this "honorable" thing you mention. He did not WANT to, he was forced to because he is NOT a big draw. He sells a few tickets in Cali, but thats only because of the rampid Mexican population in Cali.
well a least,in your eyes, only one of my points was wrong.
surely fighting cotto though(it was projected)would have given him more money, exposure and an exciting, fan gaining fight;thus making his belt an irrelevance.

Margarito had some fans, while others had the Tarver-RJJ thing where they just liked Margarito b/c they hated Floyd. Margarito's much more likeable than Tarver though.
I never really cared about Margarito one way or another, but since he paid his dues and has been a titlist/contender for awhile, I was glad that he get a nice payday against Williams and may make another one against Cotto.
