Doubt that Mayweather would beat him, as for Cotto, Cotto is 5'6 so it would be tough...

he looked very determined in yesterday's fight. he won't go anywhere if he fights with such determination in each bout

The problem is that there is probably no chance over the next year that he will face cotto, mayweather or mosley. Cintron is probably the most likely fight of the 4 to happen and that is the one fight williams will be favored in.

Williams has all the tools to be a force in this division for years to come (how long he stays at this weight is another story). Anyone who thinks otherwise is blind or just a diehard Margosexual..

Well the thread starter predicted Margo to beat Williams
Margarito KO 6 and then picked Gatti to knock out Gomez in 4. I think his crystal ball is a little cloudy...

Some people just can't come to grips with the fact that they were dead-wrong about a fight and they choose to be stubborn afterwards and don't give credit where credit is due. It's okay, brotha... I know a few Margarito fans giving Paul his props today. You can do it too.. it wont make you any less of a man.. I promise..

Toopretty

Well that is 1 year longer then margarito had..lol....the unskilled fighter he is. ONLY if taking a punch counted for you..damn..he would be an ATG.

Well, I picked Gomez TKO 8 and Williams UD and I agree with the thread starter. There is no sour feelings towards Williams here, it's just how I assess what he's able to do against the rest of the crop.

And again, this happens after every big win.

As of a quarter after one in the morning on July 16th, this has to be the dumbest post I've encountered all year. It needs no further explanation or any attempts at refutation.

williams probably wont win against some of the guys mentioned (cotto, mosley). but he won't be a walk in the park either, and will bring those guys a fight.

Which one? You said before that Margo is basically just a "B" fighter or something like that. Are you telling us now that the victory against Margo is a good one?

Martini643

I have no problem giving credit where credit is due if it is needed. But face the facts, for all the punches williams threw he never hurt margarito (margarito landed all the hard shots and almost had williams out in the 11th), most of williams punches were little slaps not solid punches. I think Williams is a good fighter with the tools he has but I don't think he will beat the other top guys in that hot division right now.

BTW anyone who thinks just because Williams beat Margarito,he would beat Mayweather the number 1 fighter in the sport is a disgrace

To the contrary. They HATE Margarito and would like nothing more than to call Paul Williams a bum. Just so they can say Margarito was a bigger bum.

His resume is already far superior to Williams, doubtful.

I wouldn't say far superior, his best win was against Zab Judah.

Oooh...Just don't change your profession (what ever it is) to predicting fights...That is definitly not your strong suit.

Williams is all wrong for Cotto. Stylistically Williams would be too much for Cotto although It would be anther competitive bout ala Margarito.

The only real threat is Floyd and Mosley...but your going to be hearing the name Paul Williams for a good time to come...He's going to be a strong contender from 147 to 175 by the end of his career...I can't see him staying at 147 with his frame and I can see him adding on solid muscle to move up effectivly.

Margo isn't exaclty "GLASS JOE" brother....He's very resilant and has a granite chin. Williams has KO's over very strong WW's already....Margo is just a very big and solid WW who just so happened to be WBO champion.

Williams beat a very tough and prepared Margo...I think Margo wasn't expecting to be in there with a williams who was prepared to throw 1200 punches against him and that threw him off...but that credit goes to the game plane of the williams camp and the overall preformance by Paul himself.

Paul can beat other top WW's...he's still green, young and ever improving. He's not in his prime yet...but imagine what he will be once he hits his prime...the WW division and all the way up to Lt HW will be in trouble.

I wouldn't say FAR...but it is superior. Cotto's biggest name was Zab and that was his biggest win. Other than that there was no one of real importance on Cotto's ledger. Paulie or N'Dou....Cotto had decent to good oppostition leading up to his GREAT preformance against a GREAT fighter in Zab.

You so called fans are too quick to condemn a fighter after a loss, theres is no shame in losing to a 6'2" tough as hell WW, there would be no shame if PW loses to a crusher like Cotto.

The notion that cause a top fighter loses to another top fighter, thats means he's "shiit" is just stupid and part of whats wrong with the sport.

His hype as been building for awhile now and rightfully so. Also everyone has a chance at being beat so who cares if he loses one bout,as long as he doesn't follow the Mayweather route and cherry pick easy opponents.:bbb

Sooooo, by your predictions....he will fight 4 times in one year and lose them all. Wow....four times!!!!????

Explain a few things to me here then Nostradamas...

1- How will Cotto get inside against Williams to be effective or to land to the body? He has been hurt by much lesser punchers than Williams and would have to absorb alot of punishment to get where he could win.

2- If Mayweather would easily outbox him. How will he deal with Williams length and output? I do think Floyd could win this one....but easily??? Your crazy dude.

3- Mosely I may agree with you, but it would still be a close fight.

4- AND CINTRON??? Listen, I like Citron. BUT, Im not so sure he is ready yet.

0-4 in one year.....wow he is gonna be just as active getting fights as he is inside the ring in them.

:patsch

Let me guess.......you picked Margarito.....LMAO!!!

Listen I cant pick a side only because Williams is gonna be a difficult fight for any of the top WW's....his physical dimensions are incredible for a Welter Weight and he's got a beard and skills to boot.

But if you think the guys mentioned (PBF, Cotto, Mosely, Cintron) on the top of the thread cannot defeat Williams then you are just as delusional and misguided as the thread starter. :smoke

Caper has spoken bitches
