View Full Version : Froch/Witter bill - Your thoughts a predictions
Hello gimps
Cracking card this
Expecting a competetive bout between Inkin and Froch, possibly with Inkin outboxing Froch for periods until he gets his china exposed. Froch TKO
Dunno much about Bradley, but the kids undefeated so he must be doing something right. Depends which Witter turns up, but I'm expecting him to be out to impress given American TV is showing this. Witter one way or the other
Murray vs. Fewkes, the pressure fighter against the skillfull but featherfisted boxer. Really intriguing matchup. Too close to call, but if I was forced to pick I'd expect Murray's come forward style to do him more favours with the judges. Murray UD
What say you?
Clean sweep for the Hennessy fighters - Froch, Witter and Murray. :good

Fewkes will be too quick to the draw for Murray who will have his moments but be well outboxed. Not seen enough of Inkin or bradley to make a decent pick.
all good even fights, ill play it safe and go for Froch (begrudginly), Witter and Murray to win their respective bouts.
Actually going up to watch this show, luv it. only one roting for Inkin up there i imagine.:D

decent card.
murray-fewkes is a good un.
favour murray to get past early problems and start beating the tar out of fewkes by the middle rds. :bbb
witter-bradley depends on what this bradley is like. he's a total unknown but has an ok looking record so far. love to see bradley pull this one off. :yep
froch-inkin looks an interesting one. obviously inkin won in the amateurs and froch has looked a bit scratchy when u stay in with him and keep a pace going. :bbb gotta make froch favourite though.

I voted for every option. Kinda covered my angle's.
Anyway. Froch by KO round 10.
Witter by KO in round 6.

Voted for Froch, Witter and Fewkes. But in the middle pick I don't really know enough about Bradley to make a totally accurate prediction; just going on what i know about Witter.

I think were gonna see a hat trick of big impressive wins from Henneseys boys. Witter early, Murray mid rounds and Froch late. All good performances impressing big audiences here and in the US.

Froch

Froch UD
Witter late TKO
Fewkes UD
froch by ko
witter by ko
fewkes by ko.........not really, but by UD. I don't mind murray but i think he's going to made to look pretty one-dimensional against fewkes

Witter (if the real Witter turns up)
so the fake one has been the one stinking out many an arena over the last few years. :yep

I'm going as well!! And will definately be supporting The Crime City Cobra
Froch by stoppage of some sort
I posted a request for info about Bradley in the main forum and didn't receive one reply, so if the Yanks don't know anything about him, my guess is that Witter will be far too good for him.
Fewkes to outbox Murray. Murray hasn't kicked on following his early promise, and everytime I've seen Fewkes on tv I've been impressed
fewkes by ko.........not really, but by UD. I don't mind murray but i think he's going to made to look pretty one-dimensional against fewkes
Thought you were leaning towards Murray in your thread about this match up....?
Just out of interest - apart from the one dimensional comment, what makes you favour Fewkes now?

Froch KO
Witter KO
Murray TKO

I don't think Murrary has the power to KO Fewkes, who seems savvy enough to be able to stay out of trouble.
If the Americans aren't hyping an unbeaten prospect, then he can't be that good, therefore Witter KO.
Not seen anything of Berrio, but going by experience, when guys take fights at a couple of weeks notice, they are generally underprepared, therefore Frich, one way or the other!

I do rate Fewkes - slippery fighter to pin down but he can look vulnerable when pressured.
I wouldn't rule out a stoppage win for Murray.

with my memory, every day is like a clean slate...:tired
i did originally favour murray i think just as a bit of an over-reaction comparing fewkes performance against reid and murrays performance against hickman.
but now i'm thinking that murray hasn't really been in with anyone like fewkes and the yorkshireman will be more prepared to deal with murrays style. i can see murray getting frustrated all night.

Murray is the more experienced of the two - if he is on form I think he has the ability to break an opponent down bit by bit with his more aggressive relentless style.
The size of the ring could be key in this fight - it will suit Murray for it to be smaller and give Fewkes less space to do the sort of back pedalling he did against Reid.
Murray usually seems quite calm and measured but I see what you are saying about him getting frustrated - because of Fewkes elusive style.
Great match up - could argue its deserving of topping a domestic bill in its own right.

Totally agree this fight Murray V fewkes should have had top billing on Friday fight night maximum exposure for both the lads instead of being hid down the froch bill.
I bet Sky tv are not happy after building both boys up over the last few years they then see them both go and box on another network.
Frank ****** trys to get all the advantages for his boxers , it seems Mick Hennessey has for this bill with Froch and Witter getting a big ring , yet it does not need a genius to work out it will suit Fewkes more then Murray. Thats why this fight should of happened on its own at York Hall bethnell green or in Manchester/ sheffield.
Current line up for Hennessy bill on Saturday -
Carl Froch v Rubin Wiliams
Junior Witter v Timothy Bradley
John Murray v John Fewkes
Adnan Amar v Mark Lloyd
Paul David v Tyrone Wright
John O'Donnell v TBA
Nadeem Siddique v Alex Brew
Nathan McIntosh v Martin Gordon
Dave Ryan v TBA
Jack Perry v Tom Glover
Keiron Gray v Lee Duncan

Adnan Amar - future legend.
Apparently is going to be the next big thing at welterweight - I suppose that is why he only has 5 KO's in 20 odd fights and has been pissing about with six rounders against bums!

He's fighting for the commonwealth belt on Ricky's undercard.

i haven't really heard that about amar. he actually seemed quite down-to-earth in a post-fight interview a few months ago.

What channe.l ths on?
According to BBN, John Fewkes has withdrawn from his fight with John Murray - apparently suffering from gastroenteritis.
Really disappointing news - was looking forward to that bout more than any of the others!
is boxrec correct? is nadeem siddique and his highly padded 21 - 0 record being matched up with 1 - 0 Graeme Higginson?

Amar is a bit of a clown I think!
Suppose each to their own.

Boxrec isn't the most reliable. Think only Froch and Murray have change of opponents from the fights I listed on the second page of this thread.

all good even fights.
Witter is 1/8 on to win, hardly even.

just seen the betfair odds on a bradley win by decision. looks tempting, not seen too much of bradley, but witter can definitely be outworked when he's not focused and 12/1 odds are pretty steep for a fighter who i can easily see witter not being 100% up for.

Witter fights bums he even got the titled by beating Chop Chop Corley, hardly a genuine belt holder!

Can I please this once say told you so, why did anybody evr rate Witter, he got beaten by that proven bum Judah who never won in big fights, he just beat Chop Chop Corley who was a journeyman, Witter is ajoke and Hatton would of stopped him so easily.
