Come on now--anyone watching that fight could see that he lost but at the end when merchant is interviewing him he says how hes been robbed and when williams comes over to shake hands after the fight he looks at him and says whatever. Give me a break. Nothing worse than a sore ass loser. I hope the next time he fights he gets KTFO.

The subject line made me remember, why is it that Merchant and others often call him Margarita?

Anyways, I thought it was a good hard fight, but with Williams winning. He was more active though Margarito came on strong near the end but couldn't get it.

yeah i agree that he is a sore loser. no class. when i see a boxer step in the ring i admire their courage and hope they reflect that character in their out of ring persona. when i see a zab judah or margarito type whinge after a clear loss, it just sours the event for me.

when kostya lost to hatton, i was really touched and proud of him. i almost shed a tear not so much because he lost, but because a great warrior realised he was beaten and then showed tremendous character by admitting he lost to the better fighter and then congratulating hatton despite the emotions he was struggling with. that's a CHAMP.

i dislike margarito even more now that i found out that he was born in america yet cannot - or worse - will not speak english. hell, even rough broken english is better than nothing. jeez look at cotto and wladimir etc etc. those guys are born elsewhere and they are nice enough (and smart) to learn english to broaden their marketing appeal and fan base. and it shows respect when you ply your trade in a place which english is the native language. margarito not speaking english is not the end of the world or anything but i feel based on his weak character its a clear F U to his country of birth or at least the non-mexicans.

when i travel i always try to do a crash course in the language to show my respect for the native tongue in whatever country i end up in.

and no im not american either.

i didn't know english was the native language of PR. :huh

anyway i think you got the gist of what i was trying to say. i love tons of fighters from every corner of the world, but i don't have any room for fighters who have weak character out of the ring.

You also left out that during the press conference, he implied that there was some shady business going on.

No acutally the judges had it very close, press had it close.

Only Margo haters are making a big deal and acting like Margo got dominated which he didn't and even PW says he didn't dominate.

But like you I believe PW won clearly but unlike you perhaps closely.

Margo is bias obviously so he isn't a sore loser he just isn't objective and he doesn't have to be.no problem with him thinking he won, but you can at least give your opponet some credit.

i think Margo clearly lost the fight, but honestly, if you really watch him close in the fight, you can see why he thought he won...

...look at it from his perspective, he endured every punch thrown at him, took a crazy amount of shots to get inside, battled his way in and still bashed williams good on the inside. from his perspective he was induring a storm to get inside and in fact deal some serious damage.

personally, i think it was an amazing fight, with both williams and margo fighting there hearts out.

i had it 116-112 williams for the record

I always try to give fighters the benefit of the doubt for what they say immediately after a bout. Hell, sometimes their brains are so scrambled (like VD after his KO loss), they aren't quite firing on all cylinders.

However, I was disappointed in Antonio's reaction to Williams. He could have congratulated Paul on a great fight and still say he thought he won it. A veteran fighter should show a little more poise, especially considering that it was a clean fight and the guys didn't seem to have any personal stuff going.

I was a little dissapointed that he didnt congratulate PW. . . it was minutes after a tough fight and he honestly thought he won so its not a huge deal. . . lets see if he corrects things a bit in future interviews.
