He's ready, feller. This is the step up. Hanshaw's time has come and gone. 30 and he hasn't done anything. Dirrell will prove he is a good prospect this weekend. 2-3 more fights against good journeymen and he's in contender territory. By the time he's 27, Dirrell could fight for a title. Hope he doesn't, though. I think he's good, but he needs more experience. It's a tough division. I want to see the boy fight 6 more fights before he cracks the title.

Put a poll up, why don't you! Let's have us a little vote on who's going to win this contest.

Hanshaw UD. Dirrell won't be able to potshot someone who actually has a bit of footspeed and knows how to cut off the ring.

If he owns Dawson is sparring, he's good enough to beat Hanshaw, right?

If he owns Dawson is sparring, he's good enough to beat Hanshaw, right? who said he owns dawson? this is what i will say since he got droped he has been RUnning instead of fighting if he fights he will win the kid has skills but if he runs he will lose the fight and fans

Everyone who was there saw what happened, feller. He was beating up on Dawson like he had caught him with his underage sister. Mayweather Sr., Lawson, Hanshaw; they all saw it.

Dirrell ain't a runner. He's just inexperienced so he's tentative and fights like an amateur sometimes. This time he'll sit on his punches and fight like a man. Don't you expect nothing but a great fight. Hanshaw's talking of KOing Dirrell. He's been training with Shields and will be strong, coming down from 175.

I cannot wait. Time to rise and shine for Dirrell!

Good to see another Dirrell fan. I was starting to think I was the only one. I think he takes out Hanshaw as well. Who do you like better between Dirrell and Ward?

I'm taking Dirrell by KO or wide UD, I think this kid has tons of talent, he just got a bad rep for the BS he pulled against Stevens when he could have dominated that fight even more by not running.

I almost forgot about this one. Intersting fight.

Direll is damn lucky to be getting back on a major channel again.

His last fight stunk like shit and he didn't seem to care.

Having said that, the guy has some real skill.

He'll beat Hanshaw, who isn't too bad himself.

I want to root for Direll because of the talent and potential he has.

But he needs to entertain, atleast a little this time, or he may be banned from tv forever and ever and ever

He can have a circle jerk with Zahir Raheem, John Ruiz and Junior Witter.

I like me Ward better. Both good prospects and future champs, I figure. But future greats? Cannot see it.

Dirrell by UD ... great step up in competition ... will be a tough test for Dirrell but not a serious enough threat to beat him.

Stevenson wasn't in his league ... Dirrell was more polished than him ... he knew what Stevensons strengths were and didn't let him be effective.

Hanshaw is a stepping stone and is going to get out classed ... Dirrell has been sparring with some top level guys including LHW champion Chad Dawson. I think that he's on his way to stardom ...

The biggest knock on him that I had was that he wasn't using the ring properly ... Stevenson was just following him around not really cutting off the ring, if he would've pivoted or took a 1/2 step to the side he couldve opened Stevenson up for the brutal combo's.

I'm sure he's gotten better since the fight with Stevenson ...

In addition to that he's only 25 and his body isn't filled out to its full potential - once that happens and he starts to commit to his punches ... you're going to see him knock people out.

Although, i'm not sure what was worse: him running like a cheetah or Steven's complete inability to cut off the ring. He was clueless as to how to do it.

Both were very dissapointing.

I was pumped for the fight and rightfully so.2 young guns putting there stock on the line.Doesnt happen often enough where 2 up and comers face eachother so early in there careers.

Boy what a stinker it was.

Hanshaw should get it hes a real fighter he dont run for his life plus he cuts the ring off nicely. Hanshaw could be a world Champ hes just had bad managment for a guy with a fantastic amateur background like he has. Hanshaw just fought tough with ATG Roy Jones thats an experience Dirrell cant fuck with.

Call what you like, I call it fighting smart and winning a tough fight. I expect him to fight smart and beat Hanshaw as well.

You probably are under the impression that Dirrell, The Petersons and Ward are going to be top world class material one day.

Fair enough, but haven't you downgraded Gamboa's train, even though he has more potential than all listed above?

Dirrell UD (head)
Hanshaw KO (heart)

Honestly, I can't get the Stevens fight out of my head. Disgraceful, acting like he was a prime Roy Jones. But here's the thing, not only did he showboat, he ran. I prefer Anthony Dirrell over Andre. Equal speed, much greater power, and fan friendly. However, Anthony's suffering from lymphoma right now, so I wish him all the best.

I think that fighters like Gamboa are limited with what they can do when it comes time to face top level guys.

However I will admitt that I have only seen one fight of his, so I cant really be to solid in my thoughts of the guy, I really need to see more of him.

I liked Hanshaw at 168 and thought he was hurt by the additional weight against Jones.

Dirrell should beat him based on talent, but he'll have to engage more frequently than he did in his last bout. This is a huge bout for him to regain some lost faith from the fans.

I liked Dirrell better than Ward as an AM, but Ward seems to have progressed more rapidly as a pro. Andre needs to step it up this weekend.

I just found out that Hanshaw beat Floyd Mayweather, Kelly Pavlik, and Sergio Mora, in the amateurs.

He said that he and Floyd split 2 fights ...

I still think that Dirrell is going to win ... he's from Michigan and us Michigan guys aren't easily moved.

Dirrell is going to show the big difference in speed and show the superior boxing skills.

There's a reason why Hanshaw has all this amateur experience and has yet to be in line for a title shot.

Although I'll be rooting for Hanshaw, I think Dirrell will win. The guy has loads of natural speed. He's just way too fast, footwork too good. He's a stinking waterbug that taps you and moves and knows how to stink it out to a decision. Some people today consider that brilliant boxing. If that's what you want to watch, have at it.
